COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The deadly shooting sprees at a megachurch and a missionary training school were believed to have been carried out by the same person a 24-year-old suburban Denver man who "hated Christians," a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, identified the gunman as Matthew Murray, the son of a neurologist who is a prominent researcher on multiple sclerosis.
Five people including a gunman were killed, and five others wounded Sunday in the two eruptions of violence 12 hours and 65 miles apart.
The first attack took place at a youth missionary training center in the Denver suburb of Arvata; the other happened at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, where the gunman was shot and killed by a security guard.
The law enforcement official said Murray was believed to be the gunman in both attacks. Murray did not appear to have a criminal history but "hated Christians," the official said. The official did not know Murray's religion, if any.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE.

Note my tagline.
geez....sounds like some folks here....thankfully a minority
Actually, it's not a "what," but a "who" that profits when Christians become unpaid cheerleaders for the other team, and proclaim as "gospel" the "certainty" of the global triumph of evil.
And those are just the reprintable comments...
Churches have had armed security at least since they started receiving threats, and most clearly since the early nineties when a gunman entered Wedgewood Baptist Church and shot 7 people to death (most were teenagers).
The world is a violent place and pastors of large churches receive threats weekly.
Bigot.
Why do you think your church doesn’t have to do this?
I can show you THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of hate-filled Anti-Christian postings from just a SINGLE message board, up to and including calls for the mass murder of Christians.
And this is repeated a thousand times, all over the Internet.
“We” are the new pariah, helped along by a largely-gay media that considers anything Christian to be “Hate” because of our stand against gays and abortion...
Very nice.
He wasn’t kicked out of this church. He was, apparently, kicked out the Youth With A Mission training school, and that was three years ago.
He has no known connection to the New Life church...just hatred for Christians.
Long Island RR shooter wasn’t targeting Christians
VA TECH shooter wasn’t targeting Christians
The Mall shooter wasn’t targeting Christians
Nuts target whoever they perceive as worthy of being shot
I've seen it too. It's an epidemic.
Most threats against churches are not limited to theft.
For good or bad, even in “nice areas” (and fyi, this Colorado Springs church is a very upscale church), the threat is against the church for being the church...not against their “stuff”; against them. As another poster has said, there are thousands of web sites with threats of violence against Christians here in the USA.
The YWAM training school is the first site where this gunman struck. He killed two of their staffers (they train young people to serve as missionaries. They are a great organization full of incredible people).
He went there to kill on Saturday and struck around midnight.
