I heard on Fox news yesterday that he had a backpack with about 1,000 rounds. How heavy is that?

Several pounds depending on the round, however, that’s NOT what the police said. They said, “we are still inventorying, but he had a backpack CAPABLE of carrying around 1000 rounds”.

1000 rounds of .223 if I remember is about 10 lbs or so, maybe a bit more, but it’s pretty heavy, plus if you have magazines for that weapon... quite a bit more. (I’m going from memory, so someone that has a better idea should be able to give a more accurate number)

Well a box of 20 rounds of 30-06 cannot weigh more than half a pound so I would guess about 25 pounds.
