Doesn't matter what THEY believe.

They live and die using a double standard. What's O.K. for THEM is NOT O.K. for us - even when the "us" ostensibly includes their kin, scumbag liberal RINOS with "R's" after their names.

That double standard holds true for their accomplices and enablers in the iberal media, so again, it doesn't matter what THEY believe.

They'll use all of RINO-rudy's self-inflicted DIRT against him if he's "our" pick to run agaiunst their demonRAT for President.

SURELY we can do better than scumbag RINO-rudy and all his baggage (not to mention his years and YEARS of liberal opinion and governance).

We have no candidates running in the GOP. To one extent or another they are all RINOS. Romney to Huckabee, not one is worthy of a vote. Conservatives will stay home and the Democrats will vote for the Dhimmi nominee which at this pont could just as well be Obama.

Funny how nobody is speaking by name and only sources. We don’t normally accept this type of story on FR. Why are we now? Duncan Hunter the next President of the United States!

I understand he is swimming against the current as far as reelection is concerned. Anybody else? Crist?

“Bill Owens maybe, Mark Sanford”

That is about the best but it hits me as being awfully thin.
I was wondering about tommy Thompson. Colorless but a very good Governor and somone who could carry Wisconsin and add gravitas to the ticket. Again even there we could do better.

“If Huckabee is the “glass jaw” then what would Giuliani be considered?”

Kryptonite.

I watched them discuss this on Fox News The Big Story this afternoon. Interestingly, the Dem apologist did not actually deny that the DNC has done this. She stated that she did not agree with the DNC in that Huckabee has a "glass jaw". She thinks he should not be criticized in the primary because he has positions on issues that are good for America and that may be popular with many in the general election and that she, as an American first and a Democrat second, wanted to see good candidates in the race.

We buy this, right?

Huckabee seems to be a candidate that libs [like this woman] "like", have decided not to publicly criticize, and are willing to give him millions of dollars of free air time by way of their friends in the media who are selling him to the voters. You would think that those GOP voters who are supporting him and those who are considering supporting him would take a long pause and search for the "why" in all of this.

Our only hope.

You said it, Rudy can get folks from both sides and dominate the middle, which will take him to an easy victory in the general election.

I have to agree with both of you. Rudy is the only one that can stand up to hillary and she will be the candidate.

“You’re completely delusional.It would be a landslide for Hillary. It’s a setup.”

Prove it.

This is all that matters here: Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) – 37% (99 press releases) Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) – 28% (74) Senator John McCain (R-AZ) – 24% (64) Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) – 8% (20) Governor Mike Huckabee – 2% (4)] This ought to show you that Romney is the one the Democrats fear most.

Another explanation for this is that Huckabee wasn't being taken seriously until recently, unlike the other candidates. But now that he is breaking through, now THIS leaks to Drudge? Come on, you people are playing right into this.

they thought Bush had a glass jaw on the economy in 2004.

They thought the same thing about his daddy in 1992. And they were right.

Huckabees big problem is that conservatives aren't supporting him either. That's a huge inconvenience when the liberal media supports and sustains you and then no one shows up at the election.

Just have them check out Fred's position on stuff, then Mike's.

I like Fred's position on everything. But I have a growing concern about Fred's intangible negatives that are harder to track. #1 He really did wait too long. Now Mike has the momentum. #2 Fred is too old and he looks it. #3 Fred doesn't seem to have ignited his own campaign. He seems like he's sort of plodding along. #4 Fred is CFR and Mike isn't. The Council on Foreign Relations has advanced their NWO agenda in every nearly election since FDR because they've had a lock on all viable candidates in every election. Ronald Reagan wasn't CFR but Bush the daddy was a CFR Director and Ronnie added over 300 CFR members to his administration after winning. He may not himself have been dancing to the CFR tunes, but he knew all the musicians and he tipped them appropriately.

Mike Huckabee might be the last chance to install the last candidate of the people in American History. The foundations of the Republic have been whittled away at by CFR members in both major parties since 1921, when CFR was first formed so that now the very sovereignty of the nation lies on a UN chopping block. Don't look now, the North American Union and it's currency the Amero is literally sniffing at the doors to freedom like a Jackal drawn to the predator's kill.

They aren’t holding back. Media bots all know what they have to do. Each one will at the appropriate time carry on the smear campaign with carefully chosen words.
Then, if Huckabee is nominated, sometime in October 2008, they will find an operative who is willing to lie for money and say that Huckabee did such-and-such when he was 5 years old, etc.

It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if the DNC was doing this. It would put Hillary in the interesting position of being able to present herself as a moderate in comparison to Huckabee.

Huckabees big problem is that conservatives aren't supporting him either.

That will change if Huckabee leaves Fred in the dust. I'm a volunteer for Fred but I'd be amenable to jump if Fred doesn't get off the dime and energize his campaign. I have some issues with Fred, too. Issues I don't feel are a problem for Huckabee. In fact, had I known more about Huckabee some weeks ago, I might have signed on with him instead of Fred.

For all the attack jabs they're putting on Huckabee, I'm finding that there is a kinder gentler side that easily brushes the attack away.

For example: An Ad screams that Huckabee is for giving illegals kids tuition assistance. That sounds real bad until you find out that while the parents are awaiting deportation for being illegal, Huckabee favors letting the children go to school so as not to punish the child for the sins of the father. But he agrees that when deportation is completed the family should leave the country as a unit.

Then there was his position on isolating AIDS patients. Sounds like the WWII internment camps, right? Well that opinion was offered at the start of the AIDS epidemic and nobody knew how contagious it might become. So he issued this position in the name of national safety and survival...first. But a man is always able to change his mind. If he held radical views twenty years ago, I'll let him morph. It's just that Kerry was morphing every thirty seconds depending on the issue. You can change your considered opinion or you can do so frequently and thus become a flip-flopper.

Well...I agree with McCain and Huckabee

But I dont agree that Rudy woudl be a disaster.

I actually think a strong case can be made that Rudy would have the best chance in the General election.
