“There. Fixed your fix. Those of us in Pennsylvania know its the liberal bookends of the state (Pittsburgh and Philadelphia)”

I have to take exception to this. It is coming from Philly. If you notice, all of the people with Big Ed at this little suare were from the eastern side of the state near Philly. None of Pittsburghs lawmakers were there apparently and the mayor of Pittsburgh was not there either. Pittsburgh’s violent crime has been going down (I believe, don’t quote me) and you don’t have our legislatures clamoring for more gun laws. It all comes from the Philly side and oh, by the way that’s where Big Ed is from also.

“state lawmakers drawn mostly from the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas “

Sorry, I did notice this little line. I would love to know the legislators from the Pittsburgh area. I’ll bet this is a misprint because none of the legislatures around here that I know of are gun grabbers. If there is one, he/she is an anomoly

They are reacting to the high gun crime rate in west Philadelphia. The only problem is their solution does not solve any part of the problem. It just takes away more of law abiding citizens constitutional rights.

“They are reacting to the high gun crime rate in west Philadelphia.”

If Eddie and company only reacted to the crime rate in all of the city...starting with the crime in city hall.
Glad the Street joke reign is finally coming to an end. I am sure by now he and his family has amassed enough money to retire happily. I had to snort when Street claimed a disconnect from the city and the programs and welfare of its people for one of the causes of the gun crimes. I wanted to yell at the screen ..guess who was in charge BOZO.

"...and police officers...

You're right. This is total BS. Most rank and file cops are all for concealed carry. Last time I got pulled over was for having a tail light out, I informed the officer that I had a permit and was armed as required in Texas, she asked to see my piece and how I was carrying it. I pulled out my pocket holster and handed her the weapon after dropping the magazine. She then suggested that I rig up a holster on the side of the car seat since it would be awkward to retrieve it from my pocket holster with my seat belt fastened. We chatted for a moment longer and I thanked her for the pointer which I have since implemented. I still usually carry in my pocket because I found that I tend to forget pick up my gun when I get out of the car, but it's there if I feel like I'm going into a dangerous area.

I’m at a loss to explain this after they successfully avoided gun control in 2006. Maybe they figure with D.C. v. Heller pending, they have nothing to lose?

Pennsylvanians favor several proposals, including limiting handgun purchases to one per month

How's about we limit abortions to one every six months? Who could possibly be against that?

“DA: Easton Shooting SELF-DEFENSE”

Victim was mugged by two men, then shot one in the abdomen. Suspects charged with robbery, assault.

By Tyra Braden and Joe McDonald | Of The Morning Call
December 6, 2007

“Rob Pierce Jr.’s walk through Easton’s West Ward for dinner at his fiancee’s mother’s house Tuesday almost cost him his life.

He was mugged by two men, one a self-proclaimed CRIPS gang member, the other wearing a hooded jacket and carrying a handgun, police said.

‘It was like hell,’ Pierce, 27, of Easton said Wednesday night in a brief phone interview.

While being told to be quiet and cooperate, he was dragged across the street in the darkness and told he was going to be shot. But in an instant, the HUNTED BECAME THE HUNTER.

Pierce, WHO CARRIES A HANDGUN FOR PROTECTION, pulled out a .357 revolver and SHOT Maurice Cook of Easton, who had thrust a .45 handgun into Pierce’s back and the side of his head.”

Last week, black lawmakers walked off the House floor to protest the lack of progress on gun-control legislation,..

They should have been walked to the nearest copy of the US Constitution and FORCED to read it.

No, they should have been forced to read the Pennsylvania Constitution!

Right to Bear Arms - Section 21

"The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned. "
