LAS VEGAS - Six junior high or high school students were shot Tuesday after they got off a school bus, and two were critically hurt, police said.

Gunshots rang out in northeast Las Vegas just before 2 p.m., Officer Bill Cassell said.

Six young people were transported to area hospitals. Four had minor gunshot injuries and two were in critical condition, Cassell said.

At least two people are believed to have taken part in the shootings, he said. Police were not saying whether the shooting suspects were on foot or in a vehicle.

The shooting occurred less than a mile from two elementary schools, Woolley and Clyde Cox Elementary Schools. A Clark County School District official said the schools were not closed.

Damn, Vegas has MS-13 too? Thought it was just in Texas.

We've got MS-13 in Virginia.

He may have been homeschooled because of his problems not because homeschooling caused them as was suggested on another thread.

I know a kid who was headed for JD. The public school kicked him out. They didn’t want to deal with him any more so his mother was forced to homeschool him. Now if he had gone off the deep end, everyone could point to the fact that he had been homeschooled, which was actually a result of his problems not the cause of them. It would paint a very inaccurate, unflattering picture of homeschoolers and be used with glee by those who wish to bash it.

MS-13 is very active in 33 states. (Probably more than that - but here is a link with some MS-13 information)

I was so touched I’m going down and empty the safe and take them all to the police station to turn them in. Sniff!

Save yourself a trip, I'll come by and pick them up & drop them off for you.

Well, 300,000 is the number they quoted on CNN - but I truly doubt it is that large.

If I were a parent of a child in public school in Vegas - I would probably move to Muleshoe, Texas or anywhere small.

Are you kidding? We’ve got them all over the place here in Florida. They’re in at least half of the states in our country.

Thanks.

Does anyone have seriously accurate info about the NWO folks liasing with gangs?

I don’t doubt it . . . but I only have read generalized statements. I’m a bit curious on more up-to-date info.

Would it be fair to use him as an example of what home-schooled Christians are like? ( Softballmom)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What parent in their right mind would send a child to a school with a gang problem? I don’t care what religion or non-religion the school is.

Oh yeah! I forgot! ( silly me!) Parents who can’t **ransom** their children from the government indoctrination camps, by paying private tuition or homeschooling, have no choice.

If these parents refuse to turn their kids over to the government school workers armed police will force them. If these parents resist, they face imprisonment. If they are sufficiently resistant, armed police will kill them. ( Real bullets in those guns on the hip.)

Aren’t government schools great! ( barf!)

“What’s going on in this country?”

An election, and important decision from the Supremes.

Every firearms incident will be reported at length like a Florida shark attack to influence the primaries, the Supremes, and the general election.

All of the leading candidates are pro-gun control. If the Supremes get the impression from reading the Washington Post that firearms don’t belong in the general population, they’ll rule in favor of more restrictions.

You are SO RIGHT!

People will use ANYTHING to promote their cause.

Homeschoolers do NOT deserve to be summed up based on the Co situation.
To do so would be wrong.

There’s a novel called “Bug Jack Baron” by Norman Spinrad that tackles international terrorism by ridiculing them when they are alive, and dissing them when they’re dead. An interesting concept similar to the one you wrote. A good story, too, with lots of action.

Ramius, I agree, see my #77. This is like shark attacks, or 1994- every front page of every newspaper had an “assault weapon” story, every TV news, radio...until AWB passed, then it seemed the problem cleared up in a week or so.

Normally, shootings are just a local story. Gang shootings aren't even worthy of local news in places like LA or Detroit.

Might be news to you, but Las Vegas Nevada has a higher crime rate per capita than LA, California.

In fact, Las Vegas has higher crime in both property and violent crime catagories than does LA, California.

Another fact is Las Vegas crime rate is rising, while LA, Cal has dropped dramatically.

Another fact is LA, Cal has lower crime than most all cities in this country of comparable size.

Interesting huh?
