GLENN: Good. We have a couple of ways to go. I'm afraid, because we've been trying for a long time, I'm afraid that we're going to eat up our 15 minutes here and then I'm not going to get a chance to talk to you again and --Well there's you're problem right there.Fred neds to fire his entire staff, apparently. They're obviously not working for him.
SENATOR THOMPSON: Well, that's not necessarily true. If I had known you were trying to get me that hard, I would have just overruled everybody. I would blame it on other people.
Nowhere in that interview did I see Fred mention his work as Chairman of the International Security Advisory Board for the State Department. Nowhere did I see him talk about terrorism. I just saw the same old lines, which really aren’t that good. I didn’t see him take a hard stance on anything. He made no news at all in this interview. His tax plan is uninspired, to say the least. It’s neither fair nor flat, and it keeps the progressive tax structure in place, it just reduces the number of tiers and makes the jump from one to the next far more drastic. No wonder Fred’s campaign is keeping him away from the media. Maybe he ought to just drop out and endorse John McCain.
