The Conservative peer who helped negotiate the release of the primary school teacher jailed in Sudan for allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear Mohamed attacked her fellow British Muslims today for their "victim culture".

Baroness Warsi, a Conservative spokeswoman on community cohesion, also criticised Labour for its "patronage politics" and for having encouraged the "divisive concept" of multiculturalism.

Lady Warsi, 36, born to Pakistani parents in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, is the youngest member of the House of Lords. As DaShrimp has said, there are actually muslims out there, such as this Tory Peer, who are not out to get non-muslims. But you can be sure if you start treating them like something akin to the Kulaks in Stalin’s Russia (deftly avoided Godwin’s Law there), even moderate and patriotic British muslims like this peer would be pushed into genuine radicalism.
The reason I posted this story was because I am a British conservative who believes that Thatcher was one of our greatest Prime Ministers, but I also believe some of the opinions expressed here about Muslims are completely ridiculous and over the top. I have friends who are muslim who are decent people and I suspect a lot of people here have little experiance with muslims, save for perhaps when they were deployed in certain middle-eastern hell-holes were most of the population was hostile and trying to blow your head off...

THAT is what the great "American Melting Pot" originally meant. The current emphasis on Diversity [spit!] is meant to divide and balkanize our society, not solidify it with cohesiveness.
