Most cannot read or speak English. It looks like three strikes against our good amigos: inexperienced drivers, no English, and a strong taste for the sauce. They sure can run fast when an accident occurs however.
On another occasion, I have seen them present documentation at DMV's that were not "complete" (can you say forgeries?) to try to get drivers licenses.
Having been in and out of NC for many years, I have seen this problem grow, and worsen. I have had family members "shaken down" at intersections after being hit by hispanics who claimed they were not at fault when they rear-ended my relative. Turns out they were unlicensed and undocumented illegals, and they fled the scene before the cops got there when they saw their shakedown wasn't getting them anywhere.
I used to have a heart for the plights of many of these people, but first-hand experiences have changed and hardened my point of view on these illegals.
How many illegals have insurance?
Just had a fatal accident in my area (western Wisconsin) where a hispanic male was accused of a hit and run fatality. He crashed his car into a man who was trying to help pull another car out of a ditch. The suspect and a passenger while trying to flee the scene in snowy, cold weather crashed their vehicle. They fled into a farm field. The police simply deduced where the most likely spot for them to emerge was and waited. Eventually the freezing suspects emerged and were taken into custody. The police revealed his name, but neglected to say if he was illegal.
This area has received a large number of hispanics who work in chicken production plants and other food processing factories. Some are legal and some are illegal. But there seems to have been a higher than average number of car accidents concerning hispanic males in this part of the country. Driving safety courses seem to be in order.
