COOK COUNTY GUN BAN CLEARS FIRST HURDLE (CHICAGO)

ISRA Alert: TOTAL COOK COUNTY GUN BAN CLEARS FIRST HURDLE

Rabid gun-grabbers on the Cook County Board came one step closer last week to instituting a total ban on firearm ownership in the county – except for police and military personnel.

Introduced by Commissioner William Beavers, the so-called “Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance” appears on the surface to be some sort of gun registration scheme. However, closer examination reveals that the only people who could comply with the registration requirements would be Chicago residents who had previously registered their guns with the city. Everyone else in Cook County would have to turn in their guns to the police. The ordinance would certainly ban all handguns as the ordinance disallows registration of handguns that do not have a “chamber load” indicator. Few, if any, handguns could comply with this requirement, so they would have to be surrendered to the police.

The full text of Beavers’ proposed ordinance may be found here. To learn more about William Beavers, click this link: http://www.co.cook.il.us/district04.htm .

William Beavers is an enemy to our Constitution and an enemy to all freedom-loving people of the United States. Call him at (312) 603-2065 and also call his other office at (773) 731-1515 and tell them exactly what you think of Beavers and his plan to disarm law-abiding citizens.

Another gun-hater on the Cook County Board is Larry Suffredin. Suffredin has fielded a proposed ordinance that would shut down all gun shops in the county. You may read about that ordinance by clicking here.

Larry Suffredin is an enemy to our Constitution and an enemy to all freedom-loving people of the United States. For full information on Larry Suffredin, click this link: http://www.co.cook.il.us/district13.htm . Call Suffredin at 847-864-1209 and 312-603-6383 and tell them exactly what you think of Larry Suffredin’s plan to punish law-abiding gun owners.

Even if you don’t live in Cook County, or even if you don’t live in Illinois for that matter, call anyway. Freedom is at stake here.

In addition to calling these gun-hating stooges, please do the following:

1. Post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards of which you are a member.

2. Send this alert to all your gun owning friends and ask them to call Beavers and Suffredin too!

Remember – preservation of our 2nd Amendment rights is a cultural imperative. Gun control is a disease; you are the cure!

Washington DC total gun band will have nothing on Cook county when and if this gun passes.

The democratic leaders would like the entire county of cook, (city Chicago) to be a gun free zone for criminals to operate without fear of being shot.

Call these traitors of freedom and inform them of their mistake.

Here is some data for your call.

POLICE FILES REVEAL: 2,183,746 Burglaries, 1,417,745 Violent Crimes, 862,947 Aggravated Assaults, 92,455 Forcible Rapes, 17,034 Murders ALL IN A SINGLE YEAR: IF ATTACKED -- WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Miller was not wrongly decided. Have you ever actually read it? And read the background of the case so you understood what the SC decision was? In a nutshell, the SC ruled that if the gun in question had any legitimate military use, then the convicted persons had a right to own and bear it. The gun in question was a sawed off shotgun; the convicts were not represented at the SC hearing (one had died, the other had plea-bargained down to a small fine), so no one presented any information to the SC about the military utility of the gun. The SC REMANDED the case to the lower court for a finding of fact on the military utility of the gun (easily provable that sawed-off shotguns HAD been employed in military uses, BTW), but the case was moot for the aforementioned reasons, so there was never any further proceeding in the lower court.

*******************************

You ARE free to yell "fire" in a crowded theater. The government does not require a license to do so, does not explicitly forbid doing so, and does not tax/regulate/prohibit any tools that facilitate doing so.

*******************************

"The idea that the Bill of “Rights” applies to Group Rights when it comes to Firearms and to Individual Rights when it deals with the other 9 Amendments in the Bill of Rights is patently Absurd." That's the point I always make when arguing the 2nd Amendment with anti-gun types. Usually leaves them sputtering...

*******************************

More children die every year drowning in buckets of water than are killed by firearms. Where’s your support for a ban on buckets you leftist lying scumbags?

*******************************

"A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

The hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights which hangs in the National Archives had slightly different capitalization a A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.nd punctuation inserted by William Lambert, the scribe who prepared it

*******************************

That’s the ticket. A gun will really stop a criminal far better than the police. That’s because police Seldom prevent a crime; they can only document the crime after the fact and then track down the criminals for prosecution. Police are Historians.

If you want to not be a victim then you have to protect yourself. Own and use guns.

Anyone want to make a guess at what those numbers will be AFTER the gun ban?

From the description in the article, Cook County is about to pass a gun prohibition law that's almost identical to the D.C. law which is now before the US Supreme Court. Competent City Councilmen would know that their law was already challenged in the Supreme Court.

Competent? Chicago? City Council? Ne-VER-mind.

The Omaha Mall killer ignored the 'Gun Free' signs posted on the doors of the Mall. Last Tuesday they were taken down.

If I ever become independently wealthy (working on it), I will fund lawsuits against malls, stores, etc. where there is a shooting in a gun free zone under the theory of negligently creating a dangerous environment. State statutes permitting them to have such signs will be argued to be unconstitutional and/or invalid because laws that provably create risk/danger with no discernable benefit don't even pass rational basis review (a high hurdle, I know, but one that may be able to be overcome in this type of case given the actual facts about guns). And no, I'm not kidding. If leftards like that CA atheist can use the courts to fight "God" in everything and everywhere, then someone on the rational side of politics certainly can do the same w/r/t firearms...

The SC chickened out on Miller. Proof of the utility of short barreled shotguns was written into the National Firearms Act. It exempted the military from the restriction.

The need for the right to keep and bear arms becomes ever more evident with each attempt to eliminate it.

Man, the Schutzstaffel should have thought of something along these lines - then they wouldn't have gotten all the bad press that they did!

As it happens, one of my daughters is trying to get at least visitation rights with her son, who lives in Chicago. She lives in TX.

The kid's father actually used the fact that since I own guns, the kid should never be allowed to visit in my home.

So far I have had to swear two different affidavits that the kid won't have access to my guns while visiting in my house---and they still keep bringing it up at every hearing they have in Chicago.

Absolutely brilliant

Why didn’t they think of it???

I have eeea new field of study>

The study of Stupidity

I have always been fascinated with Stupidity.

Here are the Five Laws of Stupidity according to Carlo Cipolla:

First Law

We always underestimate the number of stupid people.

Second Law

The probability of a person being stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.

Third (and Golden) Law

A stupid person is someone who causes damage to another person, or a group of people, without any advantage accruing to himself (or herself) — or even with some resultant self-damage.

Fourth Law

Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid people.

Fifth Law

A stupid person is the most dangerous person in existence.

This is probably the most widely understood of the Laws, if only because it is common knowledge that intelligent people, hostile as they might be, are predictable, while stupid people are not.
