AURORA, Illinois, December 12, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A YouTube video shows police monitoring a peaceful protest in a Chicago suburb who threatened to arrest a man that was not part of the protest because he was praying while walking his baby in a stroller on the sidewalk near a huge Planned Parenthood abortion facility.

Aurora resident Roger Earl was walking his baby and praying from a prayer book on November 17 when police confronted him and told him he couldn't be there.

"I wasn't planning to be part of the protest today," said Earl. "I didn't realize that I was breaking any law by walking along the sidewalk praying."

A pro-life worker has put a video on YouTube of Roger Earl talking with reporters after his confrontation with police officials.

Wow, what a nice example of a police state we are living in. You can’t walk down the sidewalk and pray without getting threatened with getting arrested. JBT ping.

Hungh. Then I guess it doesn’t really surprise me that Chicago is a ‘safe haven’ for illegal immigrants.

Even if he was a protestor, what’s the problem?

Are you kidding me?

This guy was harassed for praying, while pushing a stroller?!

You're right... what's the problem?

Maybe I should curtail wishing merchants a Merry Christmas?/ Not! ; )

Merry Christmas

True - I have doubts that he wasn't a "stealth" protester, but that still doesn't make it OK to tell him that his praying makes him eligible for arrest. It would seem that if he had been walking on the same sidewalk and either being silent or expressing some sort of disgust with the protesters, they might have left him alone.

Pure case of Satan pulling the strings of those who are supposed to serve us and making them fascists instead.

How could PP put an abortuary in a residential neighborhood? at the very least their property is not zoned R-1.

If he was merely on a side street with homes somewhat in the vicinity of PP I don’t know why he would be assumed to be protesting and in violation..

He’s lucky he didn’t wind up confessing to a couple murders.

The jack booted fascist (it might have been a combat booted statist) is a disgrace to the uniform he wore.

I tell ya what, the cops would have had a problem had they interrogated me the way they did that gentleman.
I would have been on my cell phone with my lawyer in a NY SECOND!
It was NONE OF THE COPS’ DAMN BUSINESS WHAT HE WAS DOING AND FOR WHAT HE WAS PRAYING FOR! He was on a PUBLIC sidewalk.
