Over 100 Prominent Scientists Warn UN Against 'Futile' Climate Control Efforts

"Significant new peer-reviewed research has cast even more doubt on the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused global warming."

BALI, Indonesia - The UN climate conference met strong opposition Thursday from a team of over 100 prominent international scientists, who warned the UN, that attempting to control the Earth's climate was "ultimately futile."

The scientists, many of whom are current and former UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) scientists, sent an open letter to the UN Secretary-General questioning the scientific basis for climate fears and the UN's so-called "solutions."

"Attempts to prevent global climate change from occurring are ultimately futile, and constitute a tragic misallocation of resources that would be better spent on humanity's real and pressing problems," the letter signed by the scientists read. The December 13 letter was released to the public late Thursday.

The letter published in Canada's National Post on December 13, 2007 says in part: "It is not possible to stop climate change, a natural phenomenon that has affected humanity through the ages. Geological, archaeological, oral and written histories all attest to the dramatic challenges posed to past societies from unanticipated changes in temperature, precipitation, winds and other climatic variables. We therefore need to equip nations to become resilient to the full range of these natural phenomena by promoting economic growth and wealth generation."

Imagine, scientists promoting economic growth and wealth generation as the solutions for global warming. Who would have thunk it?

The U.N. says it, Al Gore says it. My goodness, how much more evidence do you need?

Silly Indonesians. Don’t they know there’s a consensus already? Manbearpig will not be happy about this.

Some scientists are going out on a limb and saying that there might not even BE a manbearpig and if there is, it most likely isn’t half man, half bear and half pig.

Of course, those scientists are still in the minority and all risk being fired from their jobs.

The global warming nuts love this kind of stuff. It’s the basis for MORE study money.

Some really silly scientists are trying to claim that your breakdown would result in a manbearpig and a half. If only they could understand “consensus math”. We need to rid the world of this archaic superstition that a number has some constant value. We’ve nearly done away with the notion that words have meaning and we have to take on numbers next - and soon because it’s almost too late!

I think you’re on to something there. Proving that a manbearbig is indeed half man, half bear and half pig should be the work of an entire generation of university professors, mathematicians and scientists.

LMAO!!! As if the "global warming" scam is about solving "global warming"!
Uh, hey you scientists - - it's about the money. It's all about the money. Specifically, US taxpayer money.
If you will just keep your freakin mouths shut, I'm sure the UN will find a way to cut you in....

Yes, the UN would love to get its hands on the proceeds from a carbon tax.

FYI, the Law of the Sea Treaty is the same thing. It would levy a tax an seabed mining and the revenue would go to the UN.

Imagine if the UN could TAX THE WORLD!

It is poorly attended, as is this. Genetic search is also not easy if one is looking for positive results.

Government funding, of course. Can’t have a manbearpig alert without oodles and oodles of government funding.
