Since the sun is the major culprit in global warming, maybe the Pres can pull a Hezekiah/Isaiah miracle and get the sun to cooperate with him. :>)

He did not back down at all, he simply told them deal with it when he is not President anymore. In fact all his years in office he never submitted to any treaty regarding global warming.

Thank-you. The vanity headline is completely misleading. As others said the issue has been kicked down the road. This article is desperately trying to create an image of "progress" when there has been basically none.

Any predictions made for 2100 means there are 92 years before that prediction can be disproved. Of course at that point the mass manipulation of data and the complete politicizing of science would disallow anything to be proved otherwise.

And if I hear the term "industrialized nations" as a criteria one more time without including China and India I'm going to explode.

I don’t think it’s clear what happened. Let’s hope Bush will just do nothing.

There’s not much to be gained by arguing with these lunatics. Better to ignore them.

Australia just changed their position on global warming after just electing a new but socialistic leader, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who is agreeing to the Kyoto Treaty. He made this his first priority as Prime Minister of Australia.

“Bush passed the buck on this one. Not surprised.”

Oh Puhleeze. This still has to be proposed in congress, approved by the Senate and signed. It won’t get that far. The Senate will never get 60 votes.

Bush did the right thing. Let the moonbats make a big deal over this in an election year before it gets shot down in flames.

I wish we could have sent a representative with some spine

Bolton!

But I don't think I could stand it when Voinovich cries again.

It comes after a year of stark warnings from Nobel-winning scientists, who say millions of people will be at risk of hunger, homelessness and disease by 2100 if temperatures keep rising at current rates.

It comes after decades of this bulldung being spewed via warming, cooling, or any other unpredictable weather cycle that has been a part of nature since the world was created only to satisfy the wanton desire of some to transfer wealth evenly to all after skimming off the top for the U.N.

It's sad that as humanity progresses the ability to be conned progresses also.

the closing statement seems to say that it is now “firmly” launched.

Bush and his Administration will cave when pressured or booed

Yeah...I don't think so.

I think he just bought some time until AGW is totally debunked and the cool-down cycle begins to kick in.

Since CO2 amounts to about .34% of the atmosphere, that in itself is insignificant, regardless of its "greenhouse" properties.

However, looking at the major constituents of our atmosphere, can anyone tell me that Nitrogen and Oxygen are NOT GREENHOUSE GASES?

“On top of which, because attempts to cut emissions will slow development, the current UN approach of CO2 reduction is likely to increase human suffering from future climate change rather than to decrease it. “

Sound like the natural result of unintended consequences every time we allow these pc globalists to influence policy.

The banning of DDT comes to mind.

Ladies and gentleman, we’re about to go global.

They will tell us if we can use water, tax us on it, we can’t fight the enemy in the waters...

Wait till the Lenin/Mao phase kicks in... we all know what’s after that.

I don’t assume anything. Just be sure to link me to the report of Bush taking this person to task. I don’t think that is likely to happen.
