I guess the Main Stream Media's love affair with Huckabee is fading. I thought this stuff wouldn't come out until after he got the nomination.

They couldn’t take the chance that the Huckster might win.

I think it more likely that Hilary decided there should only be one of her in the race, and by having two, it was giving Obama a leg up.

Huckabee shot down any chance that anyone in my family would vote for him, when he criticized the President on Iraq, and supported the liberals prize issue, "global warming".

Stick a fork in Huckabee, hes done.

After this, I don't want to see anyone claim the MSM is helping Huckabee. This story is a cheap shot at anyone running for office. I could care less about anything Huckabee's son has done.

I think some of them are in love with him because they think Hillary or Obama would whooop him.

Others of them are scared of him because they fear that Hillary or Obama might lose to Huckabee.

Afterall, Huckabee is very liberal on most issues. He would probably give Hillary and Obama a run for their money on whether the government should increase taxes on the “rich” to subsidize the poor. He’d be in favor of reducing the prison population. He’d agree with the Democrats on illegal immigration. In the end, the election would become a referendum on abortion and gay rights, since Huck pretty much agrees with Hillary and Obama on everything else.

And the media is not so certain that it wants a referendum on those issues. Some of them do. Some of them don’t.

Interesting. It seems to me that he a loser candidate, but the leftists are so out of touch with the feelings of what they call the religious right they may fear that he will sweep to victory.

This one sounds like a piece of hillary research.

Isikoff, I believe, is the guy whose story about Monica got spiked, which subsequently led to clinton’s impeachment when Drudge found out about it and broke the story. Maybe he found it on his own, who knows?

I guess they thought twice about holding onto the garbage — what if he DID win and Huckabee would head up America’s first theocracy?

Maybe Hillary would like to have the MSM discussing someone’s slippage besides hers. If they throw out all the dirt they have on Huckabee, she might get a bit of relief.

So his boy hung a stray dog, and this is bad for the Huckster, why?

Na, only the NYC liberal big media has the power and the reach to affect poll #s, they will not touch him, since he agrees with them on most issues.

Boy, the leftmedia is getting desperate.

I'm not a Huckabee supporter but I hate to see the media combing through candidates lives to dig up something that can be spun to make the candidate look bad. This 'story' (about an incident that occurred with Huckabee's then-teenage son in 1998) makes Huckabee look bad or at least, a bit too much like a generic politician that freely uses his power to reward those he favors and punish those he doesn't. Unfortunately, I have no idea what is the truth and Huckabee basically denies most of the allegations. His son isn't talking. Probably a good idea.

I suspect that a majority of Americans are sick to death of the constant smearing of candidates by opponents. NewsWeek is transparently attempting to smear Huckkabee, especially with the so-called 'religious right'. I doubt this 'revelation' will have the intended effect. Even if Huckabee's son did something dumb when he was a teenager and his father intervened - or tried to - this is hardly a disqualification for the Republican presidential nomination. It would likely be a benefit if Hucksbee were running for the Democrat nomination.

The Clinton's committed actual crimes, felonies, that were ignored, glossed over or simply dismissed by the media as 'not relevant' or, like Whitewater, termed 'old news'. If that is the criteria, then this Huckabee-related 'dead dog' story from 9 years ago certainly qualifies as 'old news', and is thus 'irrelevant'.

I’m no fan of Hucky-the-Clown, but this is a dumb article. A really dumb article.

This article is more likely to gain support from those “conservatives” who say they support Huckabee. In that sense that may be Newsweek’s intent.

HUCKSTER huck·ster noun: (dictionary.com)

-a person who employs showy methods to effect a sale, win votes, etc.: the crass methods of political hucksters.
-a cheaply mercenary person.

"Animal cruelty in Arkansas is a misdemeanor, not a felony."

In some quarters it's probably considered a virtue.

This story came out here at FR about a week ago. The blogs are exposing what the MSM had hoped to keep hidden until later. Now they have to report it or look irrelevant. Once again, thank goodness for FR and the internet.

has revealed is that almost all of the candidates are a bunch of second stringers.

It's best they let the fat slob walk, who would want to feed him.

Maybe Huckelbee’s son and Judy G. could get together and hang and staple pups. /s

Michael Vick could offer some extra help to them.
