I'd rather see Hillary as President than this guy. He's probably WORSE than Carter.
Where the HELL did we find this guy and why the HELL is he climbing in the polls?
DUNCAN HUNTER!!!!
So now we LET bin Laden escape? We didn't let him escape, Mr. Huckster. The mission was extremely difficult, at best. More like close to impossible. His lack of foreign policy experience is showing very clearing now. And he apparently thinks bashing the president is going to help him win.
The WOT will require far greater military commitment that we have seen from even GW Bush.
Oh my, It would be frightening to see Huckabee in office with such sophomoric opinions.
He believes we should close Gitmo to make the Euro-weenies love us. He believes terrorism is caused by “the lack of basic sanitation, health care, education, jobs, a free press, fair courts”. He wants to attack an ally (Pakistan - he obviously has no clue how many troops would have to move into the mountains there...we aren’t talking the Ozarks) and negotiate with an enemy (Iran). He accuses the Bush Admin of only considering a military option in Iran, and says he’ll solve the problem by negotiating harder.
He wants to win in Iraq, and has just enough sense to say he’ll continue the Bush policy - after first trashing GWB and saying they created the mess. He attacks GWB like a democrat, but the only things he says that make sense are when he says he’ll continue the policy.
Thanks for the link. I knew I had seen Chris Simcox’s rebuttal somewhere!
Even Bush himself admitted he made mistakes when the pubbies lost congress and he fired Rumsfeld and launched the surge. The surge has been a great success. Seems like Huckabee was right when he says we needed more troops. Bush finally came to the same conclusion and now we are winning in Iraq like Mike wants.
Huckabee was wrong on the ‘more troops’ mantra. He forgets the invasion scenario. We HAD more troops planned to enter via Turkey. Turkey then stabbed us in the back, and denied permission. Redeploying them via the south would have delayed the invasion until the summer - and we were expecting chemical and biological weapons to be used. You do not want to wear Chem/Bio gear in 130 deg heat.
Also, he argues for 450,000 troops! That is THREE TIMES the surge level! We wouldn’t have been able to invade until 2005 with that many!
We didn’t need 450K for the invasion OR for the aftermath. The biggest part of the success of the surge wasn’t total numbers, but how they were employed.
Somebody stick a pin in this dork.
They told me to pick a number and wait my turn.
As I've been saying, Mike Huckabee is nothing but a pro-life Democrat.
Huckabee clearly gets too much disinformation from The New York Times and like-minded media outlets that pervade American society. He needs to spend a couple weeks inside the bowels of a top-secret global military intelligence operation. He lambastes Bush for his strategy, never properly revealed in the ever-ignorant liberal press, and then charts out a very similar strategy.
We thus get half-brilliant, half-ridiculous propositions like the one herein highlighted. Islamofascist ideology indeed thrives in regions deprived of basic human freedoms—free press, fair courts, lack of opportunity and hope. Lack of basic sanitation and health care have nothing to do with the spread of Islamofascism; it pervades deeply impoverished Palestinian ghettoes, socialist welfare states in Europe, and oil-wealthy Saudi Arabia.
These terrorist-breeding societies do tend to lack jobs, only primarily because they subsist off various forms of Western welfare entitlements. European Islamofascists benefit from generous social welfare states, and the overwhelming majority of Saudi citizens thrive off their government welfare checks that our petroleum purchases subsidize. Palestinian ghetto-dwellers don’t work but subsist on meager and unreliable foreign aid. This historically bizarre status of economic security enables entire societies to free themselves from the burdens that almost all others typically bear simply to eat and live another day. Even wealthy Americans beyond the criminal-infested welfare classes engage in time-consuming economically productive activity on a regular basis.
As for education, that’s both part of the problem and part of the solution. The Saudi education system creates highly educated welfare recipients, doctors of Islamic this and Islamic that, who deeply understand the theoretical workings of a medieval society that many desire to establish but in which they dare not partake personally. The perpetuation of medieval societies required large numbers of agricultural laborers who toiled arduously most every day of their adult lives at least seasonally to produce barely enough food to feed their families, to pay their taxes, and perhaps devote a meager reserve to trade for a few nonagricultural goods. Welfare entitlements allow the Islamic world to propose and to establish unsustainable societies divorced from the need to produce food or some other goods or services to perpetuate themselves.
Future economic circumstances like the collapse of oil revenues may force the Saudi educational system to instill knowledge necessary to understand the production of economically valuable goods and services, rather than just a cadre of hard-line Wahhabi Islamofascist clerics. Socioeconomic circumstances in which most adult males actually must work to produce food or some other economically valuable goods and services tend to reward successful behavior. Such prosperity feeds upon itself and gives the productive and the potentially productive hope that no amount of welfare entitlement can grant. Political and economic freedom (capitalism) have transformed societies throughout the world.
Anyway, Huckabee’s done some research. He needs to do more. Someone needs to give him Bush’s recent reading lists.
Do we have some links?
Duncan definitely gets it...but according to the polls,,,,no one is interested....
Holy crap. I was almost a Huckabee supporter. I hadnt really decided but I was leaning his way. Thank God he did this and let me see his true colors.
Rudy or more likely, Mitt now (Sorry guys I look at viable candidates or yeah, Duncan Hunter would be the man, hell I wanted Newt to run!)
