Can anyone help me with the following?

What is the status of the National Guard at the border?

Are there units still there? What capacity are they functioning?

Is the President Catholic? Does a bear have testosterone?

Good grief, The Duke. Whatever point you were trying to make was probably as plain as day to yourself, but your post did not successfully communicate it.

Take it easy.

Up to 6,000 members of the National Guard

The key words are "up to." Probably one unarmed guardsman handing out bilingual "Welcome to the U.S." pamphlets with maps to the nearest jobs "Americans won't do."

The president is a committed open borders guy.

He will do everything possible to murder the USA and the republican party.

I was referring to a saying that I have heard for many, many years. Here's a reference:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=is+the+pope+catholic%3F

The intended inference is that a bear is most certainly NOT Catholic, and that the President most certainly is NOT in possession of testosterone.

We should have the Riot Act at the border.

But with Bush’s history on securing the border, that’s not gonna happen.

My buddy is in the Virginia Guard. He and his company spent six months camped out at the Tucson Double Tree Hotel, doing largely nothing during the week, but driving over into Mexico on weekends to party it up with the local senoritas. His deployment was a complete joke, and I suspect that his story is the rule rather than the exception for other Guard units currently down on the border, if any are still there.

So I guess if you had said "Is a bear Catholic? Does the President have testosterone?", it would have been a little more straight forward.

Thanks for the explanation.

In other words, the quote you referenced ""Does the Pope live in the woods? Is the bear Catholic?" " involves a pair of questions to both of which the answer is an emphatic NO.

But your adaption involved a mixed pair, one YES, one NO, which left your point less than clear.

Yep, and actually I must confess that mis-statement is a relic of my redneck upbringing when, rather than answer a question with a simple “no” we elected to answer with “Is a bear Catholic?” Somehow, and to our great amusement, it conjured up the image of the Pope in a most atypical posture.

Well, I hope not all that atypical. I'm no Catholic, but I still wouldn't wish constipation on him.

For anyone reading this thread who is not familiar with the quotes in their intended order: They are as follows.

Does a bear sh-t in the woods?
Is the pope catholic?

The answer to both is yes.

You reply with these kinds of questions when someone asks a question for which the obvious answer is yes.
