Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Dec 13, 2007 | Rasmussen

Posted on 12/16/2007 7:49:05 AM PST by GOPGuide

In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, five candidates are within nine points of the lead. It’s Mike Huckabee at21%, Rudy Giuliani 19%, Mitt Romney at 15%, Fred Thompson at 13% and John McCain at 12% (see recent daily numbers). Ron Paul currently attracts 5% of Likely Republican Primary voters nationwide.

John McCain has won the endorsements of both the Des Moines Register and the Boston

Globe. Earlier, he was endorsed by the Manchester Union Leader. At one point, some Republicans viewed the media as McCain’s core constituency and it will be interesting to see if these endorsements impact the race. The Arizona Senator currently trails badly in Iowa, Florida, and South Carolina. He is second to Romney in New Hampshire.

Giuliani is viewed favorably by 67% of Republicans, Thompson by 64%, Huckabee by 63%, Romney 62%, and McCain 59%.

Among all voters nationwide, McCain has the highest favorable ratings among any candidate from either party—52%. That includes the 59% of Republicans with a positive view, 45% of Democrats and 53% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Thompson is viewed favorably by 45%, Giuliani and Huckabee by 44%, Romney by 42%.

If the Hunter supporters would get behind FRed it would put him over the top....What about you Hunter supporters out there...do you really want a true Conservative to win?

Two more days till the 4 day average. But I can’t see the three ring circus (Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee) going on much longer without it becoming the political version of “American Idol.” Without Fred and Duncan, there would not be any adult supervision at all.

It’s funny how “Favorables” don’t track closely with whom people will vote for.

4 is good but he needs a LOT more.

And we need to knock Huck down.

Giuliani is viewed favorably by 67% of Republicans, Thompson by 64%, Huckabee by 63%, Romney 62%, and McCain 59%.

This is probably a better figure of where people are hasn't changed much. Thompson is about to pull ahead of judy.

I find it hard to believe that 59% of Republicans have a favorable opinion of McLame. I thought that the immigration nightmare would have been the final nail in a coffin full of them.

The only reason mcLame has that high of figure is that he is a veteran and former prisoner of war, it does not translate into votes, but ever though I personal do not like the man, I respect the fact that he is a vet and will salute him when they play his finally taps.

Right now FOX is giving Huck a free 13 minute LIVE bit complete with "polls" and caption" Why are voters warming to Huckabee's Message." They are just letting him go on and on, non-stop.

Then it is back to the Snow in the Northeast during Winter "headlines."

The media candidates are always the potentially the most manipulable candidates...business likes ‘em that way...

True. I actually will find it a sad day when final taps is played for him. He gets a lot of crap from people and sure some is his fault, but people here forget that the guy was a POW for SEVEN YEARS!!!! Good God I can’t even begin to understand how that could have been. I think some should give him some slack just on that alone. I don’t mind that people don’t want to vote for him for President, but the name calling is uncalled for IMHO.

Now they are giving Mitt a workout. The caption on this one is not so nice-nice...
"Is Romney deliberately picking fights with Huckabee?"

"Unfairly Imbalanced, They Decide?"

Fred was my first choice, but boy did he fizzle. He would get killed in the general election running the way he has in the primaries. Romney and Guiliani would get hammered for their flip flopping and McCain gets no vote from me after McCain Feingold. SO that leaves Alan Keyes who sounds like a lunatic in the last debate for Huckabee. A Christian who ran a state controlled by 85% Democrats and still managed to lower crime and has NEVER waivered on abortion or gay marriage and has toughened his stance on immigration (since it is a federal issue and not a state issue).

That is why Huck is moving up. He is a great communicator and he is honest!
