It is more pathetic to have as your reason for visiting FreeRepublic.com the glee you get from stirring up arguments and posting condescending put downs of Freepers. By your own admission this is your reason for visiting FreRepublic.com ... you have a posting history.

Joseph Fielding Smith stated, “Not only was Cain called upon to suffer, but because of his wickedness he became the father of an inferior race” (The Way to Perfection, p.101)

Of course we all know that this will not have any effect on Romney's election chances next November since the Democrats are above that kind of thing. (/sarc)

LOL....

You forgot it was only the opinion of the MAN Joseph Fielding Smith....He wasn’t acting as a “Prophet” when he said it. So he was fallible just like the rest of us < /sarc>

If he was a man that said such a stupid thing and never apologized nor cleared it up, then you would have to wonder why God made him a “Prophet.” And JFS is just one, in a long line of LDS “Prophets” that said the same stupid thing. It seems LDS Prophets are basically fallible human beings, just like the rest of us, except that the leaders of the LDS Church seem to have a bent toward racism.

What would you say about women holding the priesthood?

Nothing; it's not my organization.

Do you think that there is a revelation forbidding women to hold the priesthood?

I have no idea, for I'm not privy to inside information.

There ARE no women in these positions in the LDS organization at this time.

Have women held the priesthood?

Are you talking LDS or Jewish or Christian here?

One has to wonder whether Satan was acting in his "official" capacity as the Adversary when he appeared to Joseph Smith as an Angel of Light?

Certainly racism is embedded in the BOM, just as racism is embedded in the Bible.

Can you give me examples of both?

You and I both know that there wasn't, or at least I think you should be very cautious in trying to challenge me: )

Just where have you gotten your KNOWLEDGE of this?

Can anyone ELSE get this KNOWLEDGE?

I don’t wonder at all. I’m certain the LDS Church origins were demoniacally inspired.

I'm sure that makes you a religious bigot. But then what about the Mormon belief that all the creeds (Apostles, Nicene, Athanasius) we all demonically inspired.

Oh yeah, I fogot. Just like Black people can never be racists no matter how much they hate white people, Mormons can never be religious bigots no matter how much they hate people who quote their old prophets and apostles.

Those are the rules.

Get used to them.

Our womenfolk be gittin' a bit too much uppity nows a days!

How ELSE we gonna put 'em back in dere place?

--MormonDude(They musta read that Ol' Emma did NOT get destroyed by GOD, but stayed behind in Missouri to setup the SECOND greatest group of Mormons!)

P.S. Do anyone know just HOW she and her fellows managed to avoid being raped, mauled, molested, ravished, homes burnt, livestock killed, children stolen and crops destroyed by the MURDEROUS mobs that were bent on WIPING MORMONS FROM THE FACE OF THE Earth?

...mormon leaders "meet with several publications" all the time to tell them how to print stories that will cause the least amount of backlash against the paper for using words that do not fit the LDS organizations list of acceptable terms.

[But you are purposely avoiding the central issue of whether there was a revelation denying Blacks the priesthood. You and I both know that there wasn’t, or at least I think you should be very cautious in trying to challenge me: )]

I didn’t challenge you on the subject at all, I’m all for being snappy correct. But it is what it is, I quoted Parley Pratt, and I guarantee there weren’t but a handfull of blacks anywhere near the priesthood for most of 150 years - de facto revelation.

If you can’t point to that revelation then you are wrong.

Poor logic.

You are NOT wrong; just merely unable to produce enough evidence for certain people.

Not only am I a bigot, a hater, a bitter old hag. I am an apostate, and might be considered a “son of Perdition.”

I am weak willed, too lazy to live the Gospel; stupid, ignorant and uninformed. (Or so I’ve been told countless times on FreeRepubli). I need to be silenced so as not to embarrass Jim Rob, the Republicans and our armed forces. (my son is an officer in the US Army, and so is my Daughter in law). It’s like water falling from a duck’s back.

I was born Mormon, raised Mormon and I am married to a Mormon, my family and in-laws are all Mormon. How could I possibly fit the description of Bigot.

I have decide to respond to both of your posts #156 and #158.

Moses did not claim God said things that did not come from Him. Moses was punished by God for disobeying Him. As punishment, he died before he could go into the promised land.

The verses on how to determine a false prophet are clear in the Bible. I don't know if you mean to, but in questioning God's method for us to determine false prophets, it seems you are trying to call the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob and all of true Christianity a liar?

You need to read Deuteronomy 18:20-22, and Deuteronomy 13:1-11.

Here is just a bit of those two passages to help you:

1 If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 “You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. 5 “But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you. Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NASB

20 ‘But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 “You may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’ 22 “When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NASB

Your understanding is limited and seems must be exclusive to the flawed book of Mormon. I understand why Mormons cannot admit to the flaws. If they did, they would have to admit their entire religion is flawed because their very founders were never sent by God.

I had asked you to provide proof for the defamatory statements you made when you said the Bible was racist. You haven't done it, because you can't. If you are honest, the only statement in the Bible about skin turning a color as punishment goes opposite the racist verses in the book of Mormon. Skin color as a punishment can only be found in the Bible as a mention and Miriam was turned white as snow with leprosy. No race was founded from it. No racial punishment was intended unless you're trying to say all white people are leprous. I think we both know that is not true. The Bible is not racist but the book of Mormon is racist. I can show you where the book of Mormon clearly makes a racist statement.

2 Nephi 5:21 And the Lord had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. The book of Mormon

There are other such racists verses in the book of Mormon.

You continue to make excuses for the Mormon founders' racism, blaming it on all protestants. Well that is a lie. Only the racist protestants held on to that idea. Remember that war that nearly tore our country apart almost one hundred and fifty years ago? Not all the protestants were on the same side. That Mormonism is founded by racists is clear by your own words. Racists are not prophets of the Lord.

Also you claim this is Brigham Young’s doing not Joseph Smith’s. Well pardon me, I thought that it was Joseph Smith who, found and translated the plates these verses were written on. Who knew he had absolutely nothing to do with the translation or how these plates were obtained. I guess I was wrong. NOT. Joseph Smith is as responsible as any of the other Mormon false prophets for his abomination.

You wrote: So you see, the Book of Mormon is written for the Lamanites, the Jews and the Gentiles. So much for it being a racist book of scripture. Anyone who has read the BofM would know better.

Lamanites, Jews, and Gentiles, that pretty much covers everyone in the world. So let me rewrite your statement to show you how weak your point is. 'So you see, the Book of Mormon is written for the Lamanites, the Jews and the Gentiles everyone. So much for it being a racist book of scripture. Anyone who has read the BofM would know better.

If I read a piece of Aryan Nation or KKK garbage written for public consumption, does that change the fact that it is racist? I don't think so. Neither does who the book of Mormon is written to change the fact that it contains racist garbage. Mormons just can't admit it because it is proof of the non-Biblical, false prophecies contained in it made by the false prophets that founded their religion.

If you want to argue that the Bible punished entire races and nationalities for sin, I would agree with you. These are punishments for sinful behavior that everyone who sins against God deserves. God removed certain sinful races from the earth because they sinned, but skin color is never used as a racial punishment except in the Book of Mormon and other racist documents.

You may continue in error if you wish. You can even spin like a top until the Mormon leadership makes another correction, and Mitt can come up with another round of tears, but it will be to your own detriment to hold on to the false, the book of Mormon.

Clear and concise, you said it. It is the will of the founders of the Mormon religion not God’s will. Thanks.
