Brit Doctors Quitting for India
thesun.co.uk ^ | 12/17/07 | Unknown

THOUSANDS of British doctors are quitting the NHS to find work in India . . . where hospitals are better equipped and bug free.

The private Apollo hospital in Delhi is receiving five job applications a week from medics.

Half of its 3,000 consultants are from Britain.

Doctors — many originally from India — say they are moving because of the state-of-the-art equipment, higher health standards and better quality of life.

Indian hospitals also suffer far less from infections.

One doctor said: “The hospitals are better. Where I work is spotless. In the UK many hospitals are more than 100 years old.”

I’m pleased to see this (as a healthy British person). The NHS is crumbling, and while it does so, it is a first class example of socialism in action.

This is what we have to look forward to if we adopt the vaunted “British model” of socialized health care.

Remind sme of an old Monty Python skit where a judge (Graham Chapman) declares his intention to move to South Africa: “You can’t hand out any good sentencing here anymore! I’m off to South Africa! You’ve got hangings there! At least once a week! And your cat o’ nine-tails! That’s it! I’m off!”

UK taxpayers paid for these peoples educations to become doctors and now they are just going home.

Back in the '80s I visited my grandmother in her London hospital. The room that she was in looked like an old (1930s-era) gymnasium. Patients were only separated by curtains. These weren't pre-op spaces; these were overnight spaces.

There are a lot of Canadians coming here, too. In all fairness, the government has ruined things for them as far as pay goes. I won’t even talk about the long hours.

The words "socialism" and "action" in the same sentence. Surely you jest.

I think that there's an extra space between the words "in" and "action".

THe best, and least expensive health care, will be on international water cruise ships. Cash only, and you can’t sue. That is the perfect health system, and you can combine your surgery with a nice sunny vacation. Coming soon, to an offshore near you.
