'Another Lying Ex-governor from Arkansas in White House?'
National Ledger via News By Us Blog ^ | November 16, 2007 | John W. Lillpop

Most Americans recall all too well the turmoil and discord of the Clinton Presidency of 1992-2000. While in office, President Clinton fine tuned the art of issuing misleading, inaccurate and flat out false statements into a precise science.

The unvarnished truth is that President Clinton lied through his teeth, regularly and unashamedly.

Perjury and obstruction of justice eventually caught up with President Clinton, as he was ultimately stripped of his license to practice law and forbidden from arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court, at least temporarily.

Fifteen years after the Democrat ex-governor from Arkansas lied his way into the White House, the Republican party has its own silver tongued, double talking “bubba.”

That would be Mike Huckabee, another ex-governor from Arkansas who finds the truth devilishly elusive, or downright disgusting to be more precise.

Mike Huckabee has been caught in a real whopper, even by the standards for deceit set by Bill Clinton.

Apparently, Huckabee lied about having a degree in theology.

WND: http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59222

The mind boggles: An ordained Baptist pastor and first-tier presidential candidate lied about having a degree in theology! What in the hell is this nation coming to?

Even more distressing is Huckabee’s record while serving as the CEO of Arkansas. This governor raised taxes and encouraged illegal immigration, for heaven’s sake!

And now he is running as the candidate best suited to meet conservative expectations in 2008?

God, please, spare America and her people from another lying ex-governor from Arkansas in the Oval Office!

Make that “God, please, spare America and her people from another lying ex-governor from Arkansas, or female spouse thereof, in the Oval Office!”

-—The article says, “Apparently, Huckabee lied about having a degree in theology.”-—

When it suited him to have a degree in theology, he ad a degree in theology. When it no longer suited him, he didn’t have a degree in theology. It was his own campaign that outed him when he needed to claim ignorance after playing the religion card on Romney failed.

You, sir, were not listening to Hugh Hewitt. I did.

Sorry, I used to respect Hugh Hewitt. I’ve met him on three occasions, and have admired him for years.

But his love for Romney has turned into hatred for Huckabee. And he’s misconstruing everything Huckabee says. Including Huckabee’s hope that the U.S. could have decent relationships with Iran in the future. I believe we can have good relationships with Iran, just as we have with Iraq now, if not better.

But Hugh seems to believe that Iran is a lost case. Better off declaring war on them than planning for the day when we can enjoy their friendship.

Call me a liar? You have no proof.

"Huck drew first blood when he attacked the President during a time of war. Americans don’t like that kind of crap."

Amen, and I would add Republicans like it even less. Huck is toast. He is running for the nomination of the wrong party.

I defend TRUTH.

Listen: Huckabee’s stance on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is pathetic. I hate it. Terrible. His stance on taxes and on pardons and on a variety of other things is terrible.

Thompson and Hunter are great candidates. Excellent!

How’s that for an endorsement of Huckabee?

Huck has compared the President to Hitler with his “bunker” smears.

Did you get that from DU? I believe I heard it directly from Huck on Larry King tonight that he hopes "Hitler" (aka President Bush) would come out and campaign for him.

Give me a URL. Give me a website. Give me a reference. Where is Huckabee stating that he’s earned an M.A.? Where is his website stating that he’s earned an M.A.?

Or did a reporter get it wrong? First time a reporter’s gotten it wrong?

You look at a record...not what a person says. It’s making these folks who have endorsed him look...VERY STUPID...how embarrassing...maybe they ask him about it...and he danced around it...it’s still stupid move on their part. It’s the record...

Specifically differentiate “theology” from “religion.” No significant difference. None.

He has a degree in Religion. That’s essentially — ESSENTIALLY — the same as Theology.

Sounds like liberal speak. Maybe that is systemic to being Arkansanan. You know, Clintonesce

Is it the word “essentially” that you don’t understand? It means “in its very essense” — it’s not “liberal speak.” It’s the English language. Are my multi-syllabic words threatening, perhaps?

Differentiate (sorry to use another multi-syllable word on you) the two words: theology, religion. They are considered “synonyms” in the dictionary. Ah, I wish I could use words with but one syllable ... but I can’t in this instance.

After the vitriolic tongue lashing Huckabee penned in an article about GW, I highly doubt GW would let Huckabee shine his shoes. Huck is a nasty hateful little man. He has a personality like Jimmy Carter.

-—Specifically differentiate “theology” from “religion.” No significant difference. None.-—

Then why did his own campaign come out and say he didn’t have a theology degree, if there is no difference?
