I’ll give a Jewish publication a pass for using BCE and CE. However, referring to Joshua as a Prime Minister, as if he were the Benjamin Netanyahu of antiquity overseeing the Jewish “Parliament” is really, really silly.

Arutz Sheva is an Orthodox Jewish organization. Joshua's technical title was "Shofet" ("Judge" as in "The Book of Judges"). In Jewish tradition, the Judges were appointed by and subject to Israel's national legislative and judicial body, the Sanhedrin (the council of 70 elders established in Numbers 11:16). So, it's not a terrible translation to describe Joshua as "Prime Minister." But it is a bit strange to use that term.

This is the year 5768 from Adam.

So Kennewick Man was a pre-Adamite?

Archbishop Ussher put the creation of Adam in 4004 B.C., so we would be now in the year 6010, and the Byzantines had a different figure for the date of the creation (which they used to count years). It would have been considerate of Moses to have inserted some cumulative totals so people wouldn't make mistakes trying to add up all the different lifespans and intervals mentioned in the Pentateuch.

That's what Bishop Ussher (and you) get for rejecting Jewish Oral Tradition.

Beg to differ. Osniel (Othniel) was the first of the judges. The first book of the Nevi'im (the Propehts) is called Joshua and the second is called Shoftim because the period of the judges begins after Joshua.

I still respectfully submit that the translation is terrible because of all the freight it carries of the modern day politics and politicians. It makes it sound as if someone of Joshua's stature could possibly be associated with the same cheap, tawdry, stupid, corrupt and narcissistic qualities of todays' "prime ministers".

Joshua was appointed by Moses at the direct command of G-d. He didn't run for office, but stood at Moshe's side during the entire Exodus. He was one of only two out of twelve spies who spied the land of Israel and did not bring back an evil report (think today's CIA and the NIE). He is described as having totally subordinated himself to serve Moses as if he (Joshua) was merely a young lad, even when he was alreay a man in full, and certainly a great sage and leader in his own right. He was also a great military commander, whose righteousness and holy spirit ensured the success of his armies as they conquered the land of Israel. This kind of greatness should never be cheapened with the careless use of modern political terminology.

BCE and CE are Common Era, not Christian Era.

Sorry ... some of us have a memory.

Folks were using the term "Christian Era" in the 1970s and 1980s ... before dreaming up the meaningless term "Common Era"

What's "Common" about it? The term is nonsense

Of course, it's all a fig leaf.

I can understand folks who aren't Christian not wanting to say "Year of Our Lord" (Anno Domini), but pretending that the reference event is anything other than the birth of Jesus of Nazareth is silly. And revisionist. We might well call folks who do that "Nativity Deniers".
