Fred Thompson to Brody File: Mike Huckabee is Not a Conservative
Christian Broadcast Network ^ | Dec. 19, 2007 | David Brody

David Brody: You don't believe he's a conservative?

Fred Thompson: You're talking about Huckabee? No. He's pro life and of course I received the endorsement of the national pro life group and several of the state groups we share that strong conviction. But in terms of social policies taxes and illegal immigration and in terms of his view as how the world works, as best as I can determine it, we don't share those views at all. I think we have a different vantage point on that.

That’s almost as frightening as the picture of a red lip-sticked Helen Thomas. Ack!

Oh, how I wish Fred would talk about the nature and sheer volume of pardons Huckabee granted to murderers while he was governor.

And his personal ties to many he pardoned and how some of them ended up working in the governors mansion.

But perhaps that’s ammo that’s being kept dry for the moment...

Is Sean gonna open up to Fred or is he still fellating Rudy at every opportunity?

Was that the dog that Huck’s son allegedly tortured & killed? Or was it a random dog.

Reminds me of Jeff Dailmer’s start.

Fred Thompson: You're talking about Huckabee? No.

Don't sugarcoat it Fred, say what you really feel!

(I agree with him by the way.)

I'd pay to see that!

The only one on the stage with the intestinal fortitude to do that is Fred.
And, he would take control firmly, yet diplomatically.
That mod wouldn't know what hit him/her!

In fact, for a moment, he did just that in the last debate.

Fred is simply telling it like it is, and without rancor.
It's unusual to find someone who can pull that off.

"at least Fred does not have to fake being a conservative, he IS a conservative."

Absolutely!

It must be easier for him to live with himself than for the others in the top tier to live with themselves...

...and keep up with all of the positions they've taken before! lol

Right and easy. Everybody gets a chance to state his position on a point and the rest respond to that position in turn. 3 issues each. For as long as it takes.

These debates so far are game shows run by trolls and goofs.

Yeah,...and George Allen.

Yeah...when I first posted about that list, I wondered that and almost posted it. In fact, I had a similar discussion with my brother in Virginia just last night.

George Allen gives some evidence that you might not be a lefty if on there...but nearly all of the others are.
