I understand this is the last thing the lil Rino said before he became ill.

Honest to God-—I am ONLY thinking of Rudy’s best interests.

But if he’s that sick, it would be best to put the poor guy on life support.

Because monitoring Rudy’s brain waves (if any) is a really good thing for voters.

Giuliani OK After Checkup at Hospital
By HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH – 1 hour ago

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Doctors gave Republican Rudy Giuliani the all clear to go home to New York City after the presidential candidate spent the night in a St. Louis hospital with flu-like symptoms, his campaign said Thursday.

“After precautionary tests the doctors found nothing of concern at this time and Rudy will be going back to New York later today,” communications director Katie Levinson said in a statement issued before dawn. “He is in high spirits and is grateful to the doctors and nurses who checked him out.”

It was not immediately clear when he would leave the hospital.

The former New York City mayor felt the symptoms while campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination in Missouri, and they soon became worse, Levinson said late Wednesday. She did not describe the symptoms beyond those being commonly associated with the flu.

“The symptoms worsened as the day wore on and shortly after taking off from Chesterfield, Missouri, for New York the mayor became uncomfortable enough that our plane returned to the airport in Chesterfield,” Levinson said. “To be on the safe side, the mayor consulted with his personal physician in New York and made the decision to go to the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for routine tests.”

His Thursday schedule was already clear of public appearances before the unexpected stop in St. Louis.

Rudy Giuliani has lost his lead and the top four G.O.P. candidates within six points of each other in the latest national poll, this one from The Wall Street Journal and NBC News.

Hours after that poll was released, Rudy Giuliani was admitted to a Missouri hospital with flu-like symptoms. Coincidence?

(snip)

There are still a few Freepers who insinuate that Fred just looks too old to make it through a term in office, but I’ll bet he doesn’t go to the hospital when he thinks he might have the flu.

I was thinking the same thing. No way would Fred go to the emergency room FGS for “flu like symptoms”

Rudy likes his luxury.

Possibly.

Thank you for the update. Glad he is well and heading home. Hopefully he will stay there or retire to his place in Florida.

I read the first three lines of your post and thought to myself...”Wow, way too much crack in the shredded wheat this morning”. Then I finally read the last line. DNC fact-checker, yes, but you need to qualify your remarks with “It’s all Bush’s fault”.

Now that Rudy has officially received a clean bill of health, let the fun begin.

Bottom line, he can take the next 4 days off and hole up with his campaign team and attempt to right his ship. If his lethargic campaign continued as it recently has he’d quickly lose his still current frontrunner sttus.

What a phony. He’s using it as a front to back out of the race.

Just like he used his “prostate cancer” to back out on the Beast back in 2000. Well, Rudy, we’re not begging you to come back this time. There are far more competent types than Rick Lazio in this race.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

***** Honest to God-—I am ONLY thinking of Rudy’s best interests. But if he’s that sick, it would be best to put the poor guy on life support. ******

I don't know if it's on this thread, up near the beginning, or another but a FReeper familiar with cancer survivors, or those in remission, said they have to be extremely careful about the slightest illness due to the immune system getting screwed up from Chemo (which Rudy had).

Now if this is truly the case, then Rooty is physically unfit to be POTUS. At the slightest onset of a cold, or the sniffles, he'd be rushed off to Walter Reed. This is not exactly the kind of POTUS we need now.

So regardless how well his libido is working (sarc), the rest of him ain't doing so good. And if the little campaigning he's done so far has weakened him to the point of illness, the pressure of being POTUS will kill him.

He needs to drop out now for health reasons.

Didn’t he have prostate cancer a few years ago ?

Rudy seems pretty tough , so I don’t think he would go to the hospital unless he was feeling really bad .

I support Rudy, and wish him well. Not sure if I support him 100% as top candidate, but if he is top dog, he WILL get my vote. Speedy recovery Rudy.

With friends like some of these freeps who needs enemies? Right? It is one issue topics that get votes from some... others of us support the person and the office held, and I just want it to be one of our guys instead of one of the libs running.

Rudy didn’t have chemo. He had “radioactive seed implantation.”

Okay, so now he’s got diarrhea, influenza, pneumonia and he’s suffered a heart attack. This is getting good.

I haven't seen anything like this since the Anita Bryant concert. ;-)

It's extremely serious. It starts with a slight fever and dryness of the throat. When the virus penetrates the red blood cells, the victim becomes dizzy begins to experience an itchy rash, then the poison goes to work on the central nervous system, severe muscle spasms followed by the inevitable grueling. At this point, the entire digestive system collapses accompanied by uncontrollable flatulence. Until finally, the poor bastard is reduced to a quivering wasted piece of jelly.

With Republicans like Rudy, who needs democrats?

Rudy will give you nanny-state laws, grab your guns, cater to the leftist social agenda--and all with an "R" next to his name! Wow! Isn't "winning" great?

>>Weenie. I’ve never gone to a hospital because of flu-like symptoms I just tough it out. Like a man.<<

I never have either. But when we were discussing the flu vaccine last week I looked up flu deaths and it turns out 36,000 people a year die from flu complications in the U.S. - so at some point, one ought to go to the hospital, if its bad enough.

LOL, yep, all these so-called “values voters” are sooo kind hearted.

All our guys, save RP and Huck, are actually running on a conservative platform, just read their writings, listen to their town halls, etc.

Huck (the non-sinner) is actually running on a liberal platform, the evidence is in his words, he touts it, as is RP.

Look. If it wasn’t for the fact that he’s pulled this stunt before I may have a shred of compassion for the guy.

This, however, is a stunt and nothing more. He wants out of the race and needs an excuse to do it. He knows he can’t win and instead of actually campaigning, he sees his “name recognition” lead vanishing and he’s going to cut and run. Is that the kind of President you want?

He pulled the exact same thing in 2000 against Hillary, only that time it was prostate cancer.
