Hmmm, they could do the same thing with Homosexuality in the Boy Scouts and the military.
That’s gonna leave a mark.
:)
First of all that is the promised he made was to honor and uphold the law of the Land!
But he did not promised to do that for new laws pertaining to taking a life.
Which he employed his core values and maintained pro LIFE!
There is no flip flop here
Only some fools out there thinking he had some power to over throw a Federal Govenment Law!
I feel sorry for you . It’s hard for otherwise decent people to have to spin for someone like Romney ....I know it has to wear on your conscience ....
ANd they are being kind. Think what the dems are going to be doing to him.
Both have sustained the law (Roe vs. Wads.)
Both have opposed embryonic stem cell research.
What else?
Excellent! Right to Life did this one up right...........on his record!
Aren’t you aware of Bush’s veto on the embryonic stem cell stuff?
He has done more than that, but that is all I am remembering right now.
I mentioned embryonic stem cell research. They both put a block on that. What else?
I suspect people are expecting Romney to have done more than Bush did.
Be consistent?
Romney doesn’t oppose embryonic stem cell research.
That is easy. BUSH APPOINTED CONSERVATIVE JUDGES which has ALREADY returned a good decision regarding abortion restrictions. ROMNEY PASSED OVER CONSERVATIVES TIME AND AGAIN TO APPOINT LIBERAL, DEMOCRAT JUDGES.
Any more questions?
Yikes - devastating. It’s only a minor sneak preview of what we would see if Romney were the GOP candidate.
So the comparison boils down to:
1) Sustaining the law. Both did it.
2) Opposing embryonic stem cell research. Both did it.
3) Appointing Judges. Bush almost made a bad choice, but public outcry stopped him. Romney made some bad choices, but had limited room for choosing whomever he wanted.
So, for better or for worse, that is the comparison.
Bush never overruled his own public health authority and forced Catholic Hospitals to dispense the morning-after pill.
Romney did.
"Stem cell research does not require the cloning of human embryos. Some stem cells today are obtained from surplus embryos from in-vitro fertilization. I support that research, provided that those embryos are obtained after a rigorous parental consent process that includes adoption as an alternative." - Mitt Romney, Boston Globe, March 6, 2005
Thanks for the clarification.
How did Bush and Romney come down on the issue as you stated it?
Um, nominated judges to the courts willingly to overturn Roe (presumably)?
Compare that to the Mitt Wit who was appointing homosexual lawyers that defended gay marriage and other liberals to the courts in Massachusetts.
