Peggy Noonan is one of those “Wall Street-Washington” insider elitists so take her opinion with a grain of salt.

Tele-evangelism meets politics. I'm sure Mike meant to keep politics out of this commercial. To some however, it seemed more manipulative than downright homey.

I agree with the "Wall Street-Washington" insider elitist part. But salt, even a grain, is a spice and spice, even as little as a grain, adds flavor.

I'm scratching my head over Huckabee. I liked the commercial. I don't think the cross what a trick of light. I liked that.

But he denied, sorta, that it was intentional. To my thinking, he should have owned up to it and dared any of his inquisitors to make an issue of it. This is Christmas. The cross is a symbol of Chistmas. The cross belongs to the message. I would have liked that much better.

But he didn't. So, like Noonan, I'm suspicious of what that reflects about his personality and his motives.

For my money, looks like the grain in Noonan's opinion might not be salt but a truth. Maybe.

But Peggy is a down-to-earth person who puts the truth out there for all to understand.
