The problem with a RINO (Rudy, McCain, Huckster) in the White House is that so many Republicrats in Congress will support them in whatever socialist scheme gets proposed (”No Child Left Behind”, for example). If Hildabeast is in the White House, no Republicrat - in Congress or in the hinterland - will be confused about who the enemy is.

Better to have a clearly identified enemy in the White House than one who is camouflaged as a friend.

Fred's my guy at the moment but I will certainly vote for Huck if he's the nominee--regardless.

Huck knew damn well what he was saying in the interview last week when he asked "don't Mormons believe the devil is the brother of Jesus".

It was another shrewd way to get the point he wanted to make out in public while having deniability. He does it all the time, but I'd vote for him over the alernative.

He would be the Republican Jimmy Carter, and I am sure there are alot of dems who regret voting for Carter.

Yeah so much worse to stand on principles and not allow a Republican Jimmy Carter to be voted in by being a coward and not vote in order to allow a Communist Obama or Psudo dictator Chavez wannabe like Clinton take over the country, because either of them would be soooo much better in running the country! Then we can listen to you whine like a little beeotch for 4 years on how the Democraps are phucking up the country!

I’m in Rudy’s corner but if he doesn’t win the nomination, I will support whomever is nominated.

I am with you. A democrat president (Clinton or Obama) would be a disaster. I have had to make those terrible choices in the past. Had to hold my nose. But, I would rather have 4 years of the H (ugh) than 4 years of a liberal/socialist democrat!

Huckster will lose the election for Republicans, if he should win the nomination, because this nation will not vote for a “ one trick” pony.

The anti-Huckabee/Romney hysteria on this board is getting ridiculous. The Fredheads are like kids throwing a temper tantrum. You don’t always get what you want for Christmas.

I don’t care for Huckabee at all — “arrogant bunker mentality” — but will vote for him in the general if it comes to that.

Problem with a Dem. in the White House is that they may have a friendly Dem. Congress also. That could spell disaster.

I am solidly behind Fred Thompson at this point but if he is not successful and someone else in the republican field wins the nomination I will then be solidly behind them!

The alternative is to horrible to contemplate!

The first vote I ever cast was for Ronald Reagan. I did so proudly. I remain a staunch conservative and have continued to vote Republican even though my subsequent votes have been while holding my nose (Bush 1, Dole, and Bush 2 combined are less than the Gipper). However, I don’t think I could hold my nose any longer for Huckabee (or Giuliani or McCain or Romney for that matter). I am tired of voting for the lesser of two evils because that is all it has been since voting for Reagan. I want a true fiscal and social conservative who believes in a strong America. In continuing to accept less than that, less than that is all I have been getting. No more. Right now, my opinion is that I will sit out even if it is Hildabeast on the other side.

While I do not want Huck to get the nomination, I will proudly support the Republican candidate.

I'll vote for the GOP candidate as well. But if it's Huck or one of the other less-than-desirable candidates, it won't be proudly.

nonononononononononono! JUDGES ! The president wins this war, especially if a democrat is doing the nominating with only spineless republicans opposing. We won't win this one and that's why its crucial.

Please rethink this...consider the consequences and how they'll affect life in this country for the rest of our lives, and probably our children too.

I beg you.

Ther are a lot of pundits who are predicting that if Fred does badly in Iowa, he will get out and throw his support to Mc Cain. He was a big Mc Cain supporter in 2000.

I would wretch and probably still pull the lever for Hucksterbee, knowing that I am going to get screwed less. But it would not matter, because by that time Hucksterbee would have crafted a 40+ state defeat and a sweep of Congress by the democrats.

I would also not waste one iota of my time working for Hucksterbee or the GOP, because a loser is a loser, and that would just be a waste of my time. Thats sad because I recently just got back into politics after taking a couple year hiatus.

The thing about Huck is if he wins the democrats win...it is a win/win for them. If he should win the nomination then it may become hoping for the enemy you know is your enemy or supporting the friend that you fear will become your enemy. Sometimes it is best to stick with the enemy you know. I just can’t believe that Mike would win the nomination.

These were the same pundits who said Thompson wouldn't get into the race in the first place.

After McCain takes down Romney in New Hampshire, he'll fade quickly and throw his support to Thompson, not the other way around.

I would hold my nose while voting but am THRILLED that he is pro-life. Thank God he is at least positive on my number one issue. The babies are at least safer with him than some Democrat.

Well, you can enjoy the Rapture after a 40+ state defeat.
