Gay, yup that sums it up. Gay is probably not on her birth certificate. I had a male neighbor that introduced himself to me as,"Hi, I'm gay". This was several years after my son told me that a girl in college had introduced herself in the same exact way. She was gay, too. A few years ago my neighbor died of AIDS.

"I had a male neighbor that introduced himself to me as,"Hi, I'm gay"." Proud of it was he?
Where the heck do you live anyway? out here you would probably get your a$$ kicked or at a minimum, shunned.

In my first few days of college I was surprised to hear a girl in my dorm ask another one "Are you gay?" and the answer, "Yes." I found out later that the second girl's real name was "Gay" and she probably wasn't.
This was back when "gay" was just beginning to have a double meaning.
