Brett Favre is such a regular guy that fans everywhere have been touched by his story, which has required a perseverance that merits our admiration
Every Tuesday, he takes out the trash. I pass this along as further confirmation that the Brett Favre folklore is no myth, that he is very much the Everyman who warms the American condition like no other athlete. It isn't talk-show-cool to dish such gooey love, I realize, particularly in a horrid year when steroids, dogfighting and game-fixing have dominated and debilitated sports like rat poison.
I take mine out on Thursday, no wonder I’m not as famous as you. LOL
LOL! I’m totally “Packered Up” today. We’re going over to my Dad’s to have Christmas and watch the game with him. I’ve got on my FAVRE #4 jersey, my big “G” earrings and my lucky Packer socks. I’d wear my 82 Reggie WHITE jersey, but it’s gaining in value and I can’t afford to spill any more beer on it. I sure do miss ‘The Minister of Defense!’
We can’t lose! We can’t! We won’t! :)
Man, can you imagine playing in this weather today? Wind gusts to 50 MPH and icy snow? Yeesh.
Brett Favre has given me more THRILLS outside of the bedroom than any other man I’ve ever met. :)
‘Tis true!
American Treasure? Oh please...
All these years, I still cannot pronounce his frickin name. I mean, his name is such a mess, they made an entire movie scene about it.
Great athlete, nice guy, but just an awful name.
As someone who lives just around the corner from Lambeau Field and has had the pleasure of meeting Favre, I can confirm that everything said about him is true. He is really a class act.
What are you saying, Diana, that you and Brett have known each other (in the Biblical sense) in public places? You can’t mean that. But I like to think that’s what you meant. Don’t rain on my parade.
And good luck finding your next "Favre" Green Bay fans. I remember the days of Lynn Dickey, Randy Wright, David Whitehurst and the "Majik" man. Those days are right around the corner.
I’m a Bears fan.
Its really cold here in Chicago today and that turf can get awful hard. I hope the Bears read the same article I did and put it on the bulletin board in the locker room.
I’ll read the Trib article again to see why you’re thinking that way (I’m not disputing that you should or should not). I don’t really take the Trib’s sports coverage seriously, anyway.
Go Bears !!!!!
Go Bears.
There is a Packer bar here in Atlanta and if you’re not there before gametime you can pretty much forget about getting a seat.
The weirdest part is, she’s referring to Santa Ana, the Mexican general.
Link please?
No, folks. He is a football player. That's it.
Farve didn’t start playing for the Packers until 1992. For you to start with 1985, when Favre was still in high school is ridiculous. Maybe we should start back in 1960, although I’m sure you wish to start at the beginning of the NFL. You can always find some time period to start that proves whatever point it is you are trying to make.
We Packer fans don’t need to insult the Bears to appreciate that we Packer fans have have been able to cheer for and enjoy one of the all-time greats.
Besides, isn’t it the Bears’ hometown paper that is insulting the Bears?
