Don’t buy it. Every person in the U.S. is special. Whether it be the guy running the homeless shelter, the pastor, anyone in the fire department, the guy that hands a 5 dollar bill to the guy with the homeless sign, we are all special. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to deny anything less than a full investigation into any crime to any American citizen.
I have a car part sitting in my yard left over when some illegal alien pushed my parked truck 15 feet into the next door neighbors yard. I only had liability insurance. Are you trying to tell me that the police were exempt from following thru on this?
I had my car window broken by some gangbanger, he left a Gotti CD because I took pictures of him paint spraying his filth. The cops couldn’t be bothered. I’m trying to sell my house to get out of the neighborhood and you tell me that it’s about brothers in arms? I have a wife and kid at stake, and you tell me it’s about brother in arms?
I’m 6 foot 1 and an old fart, but if that SOB 14 year old illegal alien shows up at my house due to the lack of police protection with the intent on inflicting harm on me, my wife or child, I will break his 5 foot 2 inch back over my knee.

I still have memories of Hitler's henchmen using that tactic to identify and move the Jews to the death camps. The time to provide the proof in a free state is when you appear before a court of law and not one second before. The very idea that our police have taken it upon themselves to be the judge of who is and who is not a citizen is quite repugnant to me.

The solution to this problem lies in Washington. Our elected representatives are the ones who define who is legal and who is not.

Merry Christmas to you also, and;
May the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you always.

An Old Man,

It is nigh on impossible because the ACLU will never allow welfare applicants be DNA tested. Hellfire, I think they don’t even want them drug tested. Plus, we will be told that it would cost more to do the testing that it would be just to pay the welfare! Ha.

You make a very, very good point about cops asking for papers. I do agree that if we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. And I do believe that power is open to believe, as well as the slippery slope theory. So, I must rethink my previous post regarding this.

The problem is that by the time the court date comes around, the illegal is long gone. They disappear, only to resurface to commit the same crimes over and over again, while laughing at us ‘gringos’ for allowing them to roam free while giving them money in benefits to do so.

I am at a total loss on how to stop this at the local level, since the feds encourage it.

Peace!
:)

I always carry my SS card plus my driver license. Can’t get either of those if you are not a citizen, to my knowledge.

I have a real problem having to prove I’m not guilty -vs- the assumption of innocence until proven guilty.

Do you have a problem showing your passport when entering customs after a trip abroad?

I don't.

==It may already be too late..... In many ways the country has been diminished in many ways, some of which are irreversible...==

Sadly true.

It boils down to future demographics. While the illegals flood in and have lots of kids, somebody once said, in addition to our low birth-rate, we are aborting, contracepting, and buggering ourselves out of exsistence.

You can get those if you have a green card. I have read that carrying your SS card with you is not generally recommended.

>>I have been living in this country for the best part of a Century. During all that time I have never been asked for proof of my citizenship.<<

I guess that you’ve never registered to vote in U.S. elections, then, have you?

Would you want someone to register to vote in a U.S. election WITHOUT having to prove U.S. citizenship?

Unless you only speak Spanish, wear a ball cap with a pot leaf and the word Sinaloa, carry a Chivas backpack and wear your jacket around your waist in the summer, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

You don't have to be a citizen to get either. You have to be here legally to get a social security number though.

Shame on you for casting doubt upon my voting habits. Do you remember I LIKE IKE? Did you vote for him?

Do you remember those Democrats that pushed for the "Motor Voter" issue? The result of that was, the registrar of voters and the registrar of motor vehicles got together and decided that one could register to vote simply by checking a box on a vehicle license renual form. They also provide the same opportunity to register whenever you pay your taxes or renew your drivers license.

Today, many of those who gave us "Motor Voter" are now championing the cause of issuing a drivers license to those who do not have the time or the inclination to fill out the proper forms so that they may enjoy the benefits of our republic. Who could have foreseen such a sorry state of affairs?

I do not make the rules when it comes to immigration or registering to vote. Perhaps the coming system where the government will place a number in your head or on your hand will eliminate all this paperwork. Then we can all sleep safely in the beds we have made.

You can get a driver's license in Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington even if you are an illegal alien.

Telling 300,000+ illegals in Phoenix that they now must avoid the police

How about just telling them to gtf out? I suppose that's right out of the question....

Do we have it in us to stop people in the street and ask for papers?

No, but we have it in us to ask for 'papers' when they attempt to gain employment, obtain drivers licenses, apply for government 'services', or any myriad other mundane daily tasks.

As a brief aside I'll relate a horrifying indignity I was subjected to just the other day. I needed to purchase some Sudafed after my doctor recommended it to me. I don't ordinarily keep such medications in my home so it was off to my local pharmacy.

Now I couldn't locate this 'over the counter' medication , so I stopped to ask Phil, my pharmacist, where he kept them.

"Oh I have to keep that behind the counter" he told me. "Federal regulation."

"WTF is that?" thought I.

"Now I'll just need to see your drivers license and get your phone number. Then you'll have to sign for receipt of the product."

"WFT is this?" thought i.

Well I produced my drivers license, wrote down my address and phone number, and signed for my $5.00 package of 48 Sudafeds.

As I walked away it occured to me that I was required to produce more proof of my identity to by a cold remedy than I was required to produce the last time I f****** VOTED!

So please spare me the Third Reich "papers please" implications.

Hey, old man - get with the program - remember 9-11?

Everyone should carry ID, period.

Since you’ve been around the best part of a Century, try to recall what happened to the Indians! Immigantion must be controlled.
