Freepers are mostly in Thompson’s or Hunter’s corner yet Iowans are highly for Romney, Guillani, and Huckabee. Are Freepers that far off the national thought? If we are this country is headed to the sooey hole.

Freepers are mostly in Thompson’s or Hunter’s corner yet Iowans are highly for Romney..

I donate $$ to Hunter on a regular basis, but I support Romney as the GOP's best chance to win in '08.

I am most in tune with Duncan's rock-ribbed take-no-prisoners attitude, but it's no secret that he does not have the 'presidential' type of personality that the majority of Americans seek in a President. (sorry Duncan, I'm just facing reality)

Romney is the best blend of several essentials: he is a conservative-supporting candidate, telegenic, handsome with a great TV/media presence, and with great financial support.

And I believe he will keep his promises to govern from the right, because THAT will be where his power and authority comes from. The left would never help a Romney administration succeed.

I also believe that any reluctance to Romney on the part of southern conservative states or hard right conservatives in general will be forgotten and smoothed over as the '08 campaign gets into gear.

Guiliani would split the GOP in half, and Thompson would put the GOP to sleep..(sorry Fred, I love ya, but that's the way things shape up)

McCain is unstable, anti-GOP and too old, despite his recent efforts at trying to get along with fellow Republicans.

Mitt stands the best chance of bringing it all together.

Most conservatives I know are anti-abortion and want a faith filled compassionate leader.

Please understand the xenophobic Buccanan types are NOT mainstream.

We live in a culturally diverse world, it's just the way it is - all over the world. I understand the animal instict to feel hostility towards those different than us, but our reasoning should see beyond that.

Look at Tancredo, Buchanan, Duncan etc. They are too hostile and negative. Huckabee's polls prove my point.

Iowa? Definitely.

Nationally? I’m not so sure...

The liberal mainstream media controls what most people think.

Many Freepers don’t trust the liberal media and know what their agenda is.However some “freepers” still believe the liberal mainstream media especially those that buy all the lead in Chineese private company products stories we’ve seen in the liberal media.

So yeah, this country is in trouble if we Americans vote for a Democrat or Huckabee. I know Freepers at least won’t vote for the Huckster or Hillary though. I know I never would vote for either of those 2 socialists for any reason.

“Are Freepers that far off the national thought?”

Freepers ARE way far off the national thought. Usually are.

Yet by talking to each other in this echo chamber, Freepers start thinking the rest of the nation just must be like them.

Go out and talk to non-political folks that vote. You will NOT find the animosity towards McCain, and they will say Hunter who?

Are Freepers that far off the national thought?

Since none of the candidates have come sit in our living room (on-line in or in person), perhaps we are not as easily swayed by the physical presence. After all, this is supposed to be about electing the President of the United States, not inducting somebody into the local Lions club.

Since the people in Iowa and New Hampshire get all this personal attention, we should not expect their thought process or preferences to be the same.

My relatives in Iowa tell me that the illegal immigration issue is NUMBER 1. None of the “front runners” are strong on immigration. Something doesn’t add up.
