(Hillary) Clinton pledges support to veterans

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday renewed her pledge to ensure the United States fulfills its obligations to veterans.

At the Iowa Veterans Home in central Iowa, Clinton said she was glad to be there during the holidays — a time when "we all think about what we're grateful for and where we give to one another.

"Well, no one has given more to our country than our country's veterans," she said. "I believe that when you sign up to serve our country, our country must serve you with the health care, the compensation and the support that you so richly deserve."

Instead of attacking her Democratic rivals, Clinton targeted the Bush administration, which she said has slashed veterans' benefits. She added that she wants to help make up for those mistakes, and said she's already been trying to assist veterans.

"I cannot tell you how many veterans I've had to intervene for, go to bat for, cut the red tape for, who were being denied what was rightfully theirs," she said. "If you are entitled to a benefit, then under our law the president of the United States shouldn't stand in the way, the president should make sure you are given what you have earned and deserve."

Clinton vowed to enact a GI Bill of Rights to expand benefits such as education and housing to service members, veterans and their families.

"We are going to change the attitude, we're going to change the policies, and we're going to have a president who believes that honoring our veterans' service is one of the primary jobs of being the president of the United States," she said.

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday renewed her pledge to ensure the United States fulfills its obligations to veterans.

A Clinton pledge?

ROTF!

Although it does depend on what one's definition of "pledge" is....

So you're dropping out of the race and supporting Fred Thompson?

As a retired vet who is in regular contact with 600+ other vets, let me assure everyone that Hillary is loathed by vets with a depth and breadth of hatred unmatched by any other living politician.

“Anything, anything, I’ll say anything to get a vote!” “Cheaper gas, support for the military, tax cuts for the middle class, I’ll say anything!” “Please vote for me, I’ll make you part of the Queens Court.”

As I posted in another thread. To trust this message requires the willing suspension of disbelief.

But Hillary has heard that before, me thinks.

In my military days long ago, my own informal poll suggested that the majority of military folks were Democrats. I find it difficult to believe that most veterans haven't seen the error of those ways.

My son tell me there are still your occasional active duty people that lean to the liberal. They are, however, less common than the Republicans were in my day.

To understand how The Succubus sees the military, we need only note how she treated those in uniform when they had the misfortune to come in contact with her during her White House years.

Chelsea Clinton was departing her plane at the airport and came upon a soldier and proceeded to talk to him.

She asked him where he had been, to which he replied “Baghdad”. She praised him for what he had done for the country and asked “Were you scared?”

He replied, “No, but I am scared about what I am facing as I return to the United States.” Chelsea asked, “What are you afraid of as you return to the United States?”

He looked seriously at her and said “I am afraid of three things: Osama, Obama and Yomama.”

The thing about Hillary is that she is full of Bravo Sierra.
She is just as truthful and slick willie was. She would create a whole new era for America. Everybody gets everthing at no cost. Too good to be factual.

“During Clinton’s first year in office,” writes (the U.S. Marines) Lt. Col. Tom McKenney in the (1994) book, “The Clinton Chronicles,” “an incident occurred which was buried by the news media.”

“The occasion was a departure for a state function, a routine operation,” Col. McKenney writes. “Vehicles were lined up outside the White House... Young Chelsea Clinton, like everyone else, was assigned a specific sedan.”

But when Chelsea was about to get into her limo, she turned around and declared: “I won’t ride in this car! There’s a military man in here, and I don’t ride with military men!”

The “military man” happened to be a senior U.S. officer. Being a gentleman, however, he quietly got out of the car and found another ride.

In a separate incident, Chelsea asked her young Marine security escort to wear civilian clothes in the future. “My family doesn’t like military people,” she explained.

Where, do you suppose, the “young Chelsea” acquired such attitudes? At her home, of course.”
