Tiger did what Tigers do! Shot him? SHAME ON THE HUMANS

I agree. The animal was living in completely unnatural conditions for a tiger.

Hearing about all the terrible things that happen at a moments notice is quite new. Some realize it has always happened we just didn’t know it. Prepare yourself for live threads and the way they are dealt with. Yes, it is a tragedy to get killed by a tiger at the SF Zoo cafe.

It sounds like something an animal right terrorist would do to make a point.

That's true; wackos will try anything. But in the zoo world a tiger is considered code red ( dangerous) and there are multiple locks and other securities. It would be difficult for someone to break through all of them in order to get to the animals.

My bet is that a keeper got careless.

“The zoo f’d up big time, and is now going to be sued. This is a multi-million dollar lawsuit, at least. Does the city own the zoo. If so the deep pockets theory kicks in and the numbers go up.

You got that right. I don’t think the tigers tunneled out or swiped a spare set of keys. My guess is the keeper on duty had some holiday eggnog or was treating his glaucoma. The SF Zoo will be lawyering up right quick.

I always thought that any trouble I would ever encounter at the Zoo was from the little packs of gang-bangers I used to see from time to time when we took our son when he was a child. Who would have thought that having to worry about a Siegfried and Roy scenario at the Zoo.

Note to self: If I ever go to the Zoo carry extra hardball.

A few years ago, cops had to shoot a gorilla at the Dallas (TX) Zoo that escaped and started attacking the patrons.

Shermy, we need to stop depending upon these stringers and get our own Freeper shark, bear, moose, and tiger reporters out in the field again.

The MSM cannot tell us who, what, when, where, why, how many, and how many times. Merry Christmas, San Francisco. Now can some one in that city who completed 6th grade get on this and tell us WTF happened?

Guess we’ll never know if the tiger would have revived

“if all four tigers escaped and the policed killed one. Where are the other tigers?”

Maybe they applied for asylum under San Francisco’s sanctuary city status?

okay...i was incorrect. one tiger not four

Officials at first worried that four tigers had escaped, but only one got out of its pen, Mannina said.

“I actually lived with a large predator for quite some time. We got along mostly, but there were many aspects of her which were not sentient, they were rather robotic.’

Sounds like an old GF of mine :~)

thankfully, no children were involved. This happed after 5pm long after the zoo closed. This tiger attacked three men in their 20s sitting in a nearby cafe.

I hope it is just carelessness.

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time with a tiger from a game farm. The animal was inside a cage with a single layer of bars. It was fascinating and unnerving to be less than three feet from an amazingly large and powerful animal.

There does seem to be a pattern here. First of all, how could four tigers escape? Secondly, the same thing happened a year ago, in December of 2006. I would not put it past some animal rights wacko to do something like this.

It’s mating season:

“In tropical climates, mostly from around November to April; during the winter months in temperate regions.”
