A handful of teenage boys have terrorized the workers at the Clark gas station on 60th and West Fond du Lac for the past two weeks. We've went through hell. It's just ridiculous," said owner Mandi Brar.
She says since December 11th, seven or eight teens have come in almost every day. With guns drawn, they demand food, gas, drinks, whatever they can get their hands on.
"December 11th, 12th, 14th, and 15th they came four times in a day," said Brar.

The life of a gas station owner is a rough one. People yell at them every day for prices they don’t control and make almost nothing on. They need you to buy Ring Dings at markup to feed their families. Most of them are entire families who work hard. There is an Indian family who own a Shell near me whose 5-year old does homework behind the counter and also fetches items for customers, while his 16-year old sister stocks the shelves. When I see all the lazy and vain MySpace/MTV-obsessed American kids it really makes for quite a contrast.

I think you mean Chicago North. Either way it’s a sad commentary on gun laws. The lefties think that by taking guns away from law-abiding citizens, they’ll eventually disarm the criminals. How many innocents will die for that “theory” to work?
I don't think we are, actually. The store owner says they've been hit up to four times in a single day for four days. We're talking between 7 and 16 times. I'm betting the store owner was present after, at least, the second one.
I don't know of too many minimum wage clerks that are stupid enough not to call in sick once the writing is on the wall.
And these thugs don't have little or no fear of death, necessarily. They just understand the system and their odds-- better than at least half the citizenry of Wisconsin, unfortunately.

That's not all. Police say one of the teens stole a black Mercedes. The driver left his keys in his car and went into pay for gas.

It’s certainly possible to pontificate ignorant things about childrearing practices and their results. Such ignorant pontifications would, to me, much more plausibly fit the label “psychobabble.”
In my experience of more than 35 years of counseling a wide diversity of families . . . it is PARTLY the attitudes characterized, described by your misinformation, lack of awareness/ignorance of the facts . . . that has resulted in the erroding of parental responsibility and parental effectiveness.
Perhaps instead of popping off your fingers with silly blather based much more in emotion than FACTS, you could inform yourself, study, learn THE REAL FACTS FIRST. I realize that may be a novel idea. But it would benefit a lot more people than silly inaccuracies do.
Labeling solid proven facts as “tripe” only shows your lack of awareness/your ignorance. It doesn’t help, inform, enlighten, improve, support anything productive, useful, good.
You don’t seem to have a clue about the truths and facts I’m talking about. It would be a great deal more sensible if you FIRST UNDERSTOOD and had an accurate GRASP of the ideas I’m talking about BEFORE throwing silly ignorant rocks at them.

Where did I SAY ANYTHING about these kids being rehabilitated? More popping off the top of yoru fingers with unaware/ignorant pontifications, it appears.

Their parents totally botched their job of parenting. Probably the first 5 years of life. Perhaps it’s the parents that deserve only a 6 X 8 room with a view of the yard.
TRAINING, TEACHING, INCULCATING, INFECTING REBELLION INTO A KID THE FIRST 5 YEARS OF LIFE 24/7 . . . and then punishing the kid 15 years later for the parents training efforts the first 5 years . . . smacks me as at least slightly distorted.
Sure the kids have some serious responsibility for their behaviors and will be paying the rest of their lives.
But they did NOT come out of the womb delinquents.
It may be that he just isn't the type to respond with violence over this kind of thing. Some people are like that - they are true pacifists.
However, I will go out on a limb here and say that I would bet it is in a section of town where if the business owner brought in a gun and shot one or more of the young thugs, the police would arrest HIM and the prosecutor and the surrounding community would make sure he loses everything he has / spends a long time in prison.
I would guess that he will sooner or later move or go out of business.

There have been numerous threads about people who decide not to have children and a good number of replies in all the threads call these people selfish. What always strikes me is those posting such replies never even consider that there are people who would be better off not having children because their potential of not properly caring for children is so high.
They are misunderstood “yutes” and the city will make more money prosecuting traffic offenders.

It is still . . . obtuse if not upside down values . . . that we have to have a driver’s license and insurance to drive . . .
but nothing but several minutes of intense exercise to be parents.
NOT that I would easily support licensing parents . . . especially with SHRILLERY AND GLOBALISTS in charge of the licensing! Horror of horrors!
The problem, Quix, is that by the time these kids grow into adolescent gangbangers there is little that can be done to remediate the damage. What you describe may speak to prevention— if there was a feasible way to get all parents to be loving responsible parents it would do wonders. But for the most part these young perpetrators are going nowhere but prison or the cemetary at an early age. They have missed critical developmental events which cannot reliably be made up.

I suspect you would guess that I’m keenly aware of that having had to TRY and help countless such family situations and kids.
And, my own adopted sister 10 years younger was a case in point. On and off drugs from age 12 in and out of jail and prison similarly. Evidently deliberately OD’d at age 40. What a trail of pain on all sides.
Though, thankfully, there are miracles . . .
SOME do get turned around . . . usually with some very stiff contingencies and no few miricles from God.
