Boy, 14, shot in the leg on bus in West Baltimore By Michael Dresser 12:00 PM EST, December 26, 2007 In the latest of a series of violent incidents on Maryland Transit Administration property, a 14-year-old boy was shot and wounded on board a bus in West Baltimore this morning, according to city police. Agent Donny Moses, a department spokesman, said the incident occurred about 12:45 a.m. on the No. 15 bus in the 1100 block of Poplar Grove St. He said the youth got into an argument with another male, who stepped off the bus at a stop, then leaned back in and fired a shot, hitting the boy in the leg. The gunman ran away and Moses said police have no suspects at this time. The boy, whose name was not released, was treated at a city hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said. Jawauna Greene, a spokeswoman for the MTA, gave a more detailed preliminary account based on witness statements. She said the victim got on the bus at Security Square Mall in Baltimore County about 12:15 a.m. as part of a group of young people who appeared to have been leaving the movies there.

Yeah, I went down to the Inner Harbor a couple weeks ago for Army/Navy. My 9 year old son and I took the light rail out of Owings Mills - this was before the recent attacks against whites on MTA. After the crowds had toured the toys that Army and Navy had brought in for the event the area emptied out.

I went inside the Galleries about noon and the stores were literally empty - just a couple weeks before Christmas. It was creepy.

I used to ride the rails into work and thought it might be fun for my boy - a little adventure. No thanks! I’ll never take a family member onto Maryland Mass Transit again.
