MANCHESTER Republican presidential candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney yesterday agreed to participate in the WMUR/ABC/Facebook presidential debates just three days before the primary Jan. 8.
They join fellow Republicans John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson in officially agreeing to the debates scheduled for Jan. 5 at St. Anselm College. The forums begin at 7 p.m.
Bartlett said all the major Democratic and Republican candidates campaigns have been involved in discussions about the debates.
Democratic presidential candidates who have committed to the debates include Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Joseph Biden and Dennis Kucinich, according to WMUR news director Andrew Vrees.
Giuliani also agreed yesterday to participate in a presidential debate on the Fox network on Jan. 6, although no debate is currently scheduled. Fox News, with the state Republican Party, had scheduled a Republican debate for that date, but withdrew the proposal when candidates did not commit to the event.
State Republican Party chair Fergus Cullen said the party has been discussing a presidential forum for several months with Fox News for Jan. 6 and has been in touch with all the campaigns about it. "Weve gotten a favorable response, but that is short of a commitment," he said yesterday.
He said he has noted all along he does not expect the presidential candidates to make a firm commitment to participate in any end-of-the-campaign events until much closer to when they are held.
The state Republican Party has scheduled a presidential forum for 11 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Function Center at Hampshire Hills in Milford. The partys presidential candidates have been invited to participate in the forum.
You know what would be interesting to watch; A mix and match debate. (combination of Repubs and Dims on the same stage) And an impartial mod....of course.
Imbeciles....
They are guaranteeing that they will get the "Why is destroying the Earth so important to you?" type questions...
Who needs a mod? Each candidate could 1) ask questions of the others or 2) designate a questioner to represent him. You know, like a real debate...
That would explain why Mr. Reparations - excuse me, Dr. Reparations - isn't on the list.
Am I understanding this right...both party’s candidates in the same debate? If so, this should be fun. I can’t wait to see Fred call one of the Dems out on something.
It would be fun to watch.
Newt Gingrich or the Heritage Foundation should sponsor the debates and charge admission to the public and charge the news media for the right to carry the programming live.

But the people who do bet spit out Duncan Hunter as the last winner of the debate.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

In this poll Hunter is up 3% and even with Paul and Thompson.

Do Republican candidates have a death wish?
Don’t let ABC, facebook or any MSM stage your debate. Haven’t you already learned from experience??????
Fred looked good smacking around the liberal moderator last time.
None of the other candidates were brave enough.
Have the debate live on Hannity and Colmes
Just so no one drives all the way to Milford, NH, thinking it's free... It's actually a brunch that'll cost you $125 a ticket.
I think more face time can only be good for Thompson, as he is such an able speaker.
What is the format? Will there be a moderator?
