LA Times polls have been suspect in the past.

I'm not sure Huckabee's got that big of a lead.

Hopefully we'll get some reputable polls coming fairly soon. Des Moines Register, Mason-Dixon...

Fred’s coming. Fred will save us all. Hope in Fred, for he will come and save us. O Lord, stir up thy might and bring us Messiah Fred because we’ve savaged everyone else and all we’ve got left is Fred and he’s only got 4 %.

But we will not give up; we will savage the others all the more so that Fred can come and save us. /s

add another 5 points to Fred’s numbers before the 3rd and we might just have that Thompson surge that will pick up throughout the south

These polls are terrible for Mitt? Rudy? Mike? Fred? .... No - they are terrible for all of us. This late in the game and still 5 guys battling it out. This looks to be an ugly spring (and maybe summer) for the GOP while Hillary wraps her nomination up in February with 9 months to pound the GOP with her free liberal media hammer.

I disagree. It's healthy for our party to still be debating these issues. It shows we, and only we, have the ideas and are the "big tent."

The one drawback is that no one candidate seems to have "all" the big issues.

Hmm, there was an article on a polling website the other day that pointed out that around the holidays, younger, more-educated folks would be traveling and be hard for the pollsters to reach. Thus, one could expect a drop in support for the candidates they disproportionately support. Ron Paul and Barack Obama come to mind. Comparing these results to the polls just prior to the Christmas holiday, it looks like the article was on the money.

Looks like the projections of doom for Huckabee in Iowa are wishful thinking...

I am all for debate and a good choice of candidates but we have had that for 6 months. We had 10 interesting candidates who were all great on some issues, and terrible on others. What I think is bad is not that we have 5 double-digit candidates to choose from but that apparently none of them is even close to unifying the party after 6 months of non-stop campaigning and a debate or more a month. The media is buzzing Obama to make it look like a race but the beast will wrap that up in the next 45 days. That leaves her 8 months to raise money, build organization and take daily potshots at the GOP which will be glowingly covered by the DBM. The GOP looks like we will be spending all spring and maybe up until the convention running attack ads against each other. A unified grass roots campaign team will not be built. We will have nothing but a party self destruction to the tune of “Rudy is no better than Hillary, Fred is lazy, Mitt is a flip flopping Mormon, Huckabee is Slicky Willy II, and McCain a traitor to the party. I just wish someone would pull ahead, and whoever really can’t stand that guy could coalesce around one choice against that guy. That way in the end at least a majority of the GOP would have their guy. As it stands now we may end up with an under 30% nominee.

What do I need a flame-retardant suit for? Fred will save me. Fred’s for real, not like those other fake-conservative phonies. Fred’s friends would never flame one of the Prophets of Fred’s Second (or Third, or Fourth, or Fourteenth) Coming, would they?

Actuall, since Fred isn’t really even running in NH, as a FDT supporter, I love this (Iowa) poll!

Fred just needs a 3rd place finish in Iowa to shut up all the people who’ve said he’s out of it. This poll was taken the two days before Christmas and the day after, and has FDT tied for third at 11%.

Combine this with the Strategic Vision poll taken on the two days AFTER Christmas, which shows FDT at 15%, and I love the direction of things. Fred could just pull off a 2nd place finish in Iowa, which would be the shocker he needs to get free MSM coverage.

From there its on to the South and watch old Freddie pour it on!

GO FRED GO!!

Hank

Anybody run the comparatives/demographics in differences between the average Iowa GOP caucus goer and average New Hampshire GOP primary voter?

Average annual salary?

Age?

Race?

Religious inclination?

Level of education attained?

Divorce rate?

Occupation?

Unemployment rate?

Foreign language skills?

That kind of thing? What a dramatic difference. Certainly two VERY different states.

After the blatent manipulation that the LA Times polls do in the CA races, I wouldn’t trust a popularity poll on Santa Claus from them.

One thing to always note in any poll is the DATE the poll was actually TAKEN and the DATE it was RELEASED. The poll mentioned above was taken from Dec.20-23. This means that anything that happened after the 23rd was not reflected in this poll. Any endorsements from political leaders, or newspapers that happened after Dec.23rd are not reflected in this poll released today. I am sure that Fred’s numbers are better and will continue to go up! I expect Fred to shine on January 3rd! GO FRED!
