Great news! Wuterich is the one Marine the ACLU scumbags at JAG want to railroad more than anybody. When Wuterich gets exonerated, it’s all over except for Murtha’s crying.

During the ensuing firefight, the squad killed eight insurgents and 15 civilians that lived in three of the four homes from which the enemy sprang the ambush. An attached Human Intelligence Exploitation Team later identified at least 11 other insurgents involved in the attack who were hired and led by Al Qaeda foreign fighters operating in Haditha.

This prosecution not only "can't see the forest through the trees", they have been deliberately closing their eyes.

The NPR story claimed one of its reporters had obtained the names of the suspects from an anonymous Department of Defense source.

Some insect in the DOD needs to be brought out into the light, exposed, and then squished, preferably with combat boots. This is unbelievable.

With the good news of immunity and the ensuing testimony of Salinas, I will join the "Exonerate in '08!" optimism. Happy New Year to all!

Laughnerable!

Agreed! Don't know why all has been quiet on the Lt Grayson front. I hope the charges will be dismissed soon.

Late November until the New Year seems sufficient time to let this young man know his fate. Even though I’ve appreciated Ware’s integrity in the past, I think IO’s, in general, might be a bit too picayunish in their desire to find charges that “might” work, if the original charges are too severe.

To me, if the prosecution has leveled a charge that cannot be sustained, then they should go forward with it or drop it.

...then they should go forward with it or drop it.

Unfortunately, I think egos get wrapped up in all this. There are already voices charging that if there are no convictions, the prosecutors are to blame.

The Haditha case is the real Iraq quagmire. We were goaded into it by the media and Congressman Murtha. I hope Lt Grayson, SSgt Wuterich, LCplTatum, and LtCol Chessani (like LCpl Sharratt, Capt Stone, and Capt McConnell) will be cleared very soon.

Thank you for the ping, and your longterm commitment to keep us informed on the Haditha case.

This is certainly good news for Sergeant Hector A. Salinas. Let us hope that his testimony will help exonerate Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich.

The IO for Grayson was Col. Robert Stahlman. From reporting at the time, it appeared the IO was skeptical about some of the charges. Charges against Haditha defendant questioned Also, Stahlman gave both sides until Nov. 28 to submit written arguments before making his recommendation. We will see, but it sounded positive for 1st Lt. Grayson.

We were goaded into it by the media and Congressman Murtha.

And shame on the US military and its civilian bosses for allowing that to happen.

On the other hand, you and Nat and others have helped to keep this story front and center in the public eye, and for that the civilized portion of this country should be forever grateful. I honestly believe that if it was twenty years ago and the "big three" networks and a handful of liberal Democrat big-city newspapers still held their monopoly on the selection, spin, and dissemination of the daily news, all (or at least most) of these Marines would have already been successfully railroaded and jailed.

Happy New Year to the RedRover family!

Lord willing these fine defense lawyers shall put the final stake into the miserable hearts of the prosecution on these trials.

>> The government has too much invested in Lt Col Chessani’s case to allow that to happen.

And who is the beneficiary of this investment, some obscure bureaucrat?

It must be a dark and lonely place, the mind of one who seeks to destroy good men, especially the men that put their lives and families on hold to serve their Country.
