In January 2006, a jury convicted Cordell Stewart of shooting Chiwanda Ammons.

Cordell StewartFour months later, Douglas County District Court Judge Joseph Troia declared Stewart a habitual criminal and sentenced him to 30 to 40 years in prison.

Despite the hefty sentence, the habitual criminal tag and Stewart's earlier threat to a prosecutor, Troia then set a $25,000 appeal bond, which allowed Stewart to get out of prison while he appealed his convictions.

Troia - yet another example of an unfit judge.

Is there a “Bad Judges” ping list? (Question for anyone reading.)

If so, I’d like to be added.

Some people should be permanently locked up. They are highly dangerous to society.

Oh, I'm shocked. Simply shocked.

And I'm CERTAIN that this felon will show up for that court date. After all, he did for all the others, right? (slaps forehead) /s

How many more people will he shoot before he is recaptured, and will this judge be held accountable as an accomplice? Oh, wait, I know the answer.

It is obvious, at least to me, that the judge granting the $25,000 appeal bond is the product of several generations of incestuous marriages.

Is the felon, Cordell Stewart, the same guy as the football player?

Let me guess now his bond is only $50,000 ( 25,000 for each “repeat” offense ). What a judicial system we enjoy.

A lot of things are not said in this article.

First, Troia is a notorious liberal-lefty. He has had a number of other high profile cases where his judgment was bad. The article alludes to that the way it says the State Supreme Court slapped him down.

Another thing that it doesn’t say is that the shooter only had to get together $2,500 to post bond. The liberal-left in this state decided they wanted to lower bail. They did it by attacking the bail bondsmen making a profit. They set up a competing system whereby the criminal only had to come up with 10% of the bail amount and the entire amount would be returned after they showed up for trial. Of course, when someone skips, the state does NOT hire a bounty hunter. So there is no incentive to show up. The number of people who skip has increased dramatically since this was changed.

There is definitely a need for a “Bad Judges” list. Anyone who starts it can include me on the pings.
