Treen?..... Gov. David Treen? Isn’t he about 80 yrs old or somewhere near that? Not that age is a disqualifier but you’d think he wouldn’t want the stress of D.C., etc. Didn’t Vitter defeat him for this seat back in 99 or or?

LA-1st is old Bob Livingston district. Succeeded by Vitter upon Livingston retirement. This slice of LA had been home base and electorial support for David Duke.

Treen turns 80 in July. And, yes, Vitter beat him narrowly for the seat almost a decade ago. He has little chance of winning this time.
