Howdy all! Just wanted to wish everyone at Free Republic a Happy New Year and tell you that we've just seven hours until voting is closed for our 12th Annual Person of the Year Award.

We've had a tremendous response from FReepers -- as always -- and if you haven't had a chance to vote yet, all you have to do is go here.

htmlfile: http://www.enterstageright.com/static/appr.htm

Name: Gen. David Petraeus

Reason: He uses his mind so that countless people are alive today. He gives hope to people worldwide. He is not afraid to go where no warrior has gone before. He runs five miles every morning - then gets to work. Machines don’t fight wars. People do, and they use their minds. - Col John R. Boyd

submit: Submit
