That is up to God. I do not know what arrangements God has for those who have not heard the Gospel, but I do know he is faithful and just. However, I do know what the means to salvation is for those who have heard the Gospel - they need to believe in their heart and confess with their mouth. If you are worried about those who have not heard the gospel (and we should be) the response is evangelism.

lets see it (the evidence)
I have not heard any reasonable arguement by serious bible scholars (not those with a mission) to cast doubt on Johns authorship of Revelation
Then there is the comment by Christ - what if he remains alive until I return - the author of revelation very much saw the risen Christ return to him in his vision.

I get it
this scholarship is by the kindgom now folks who think revalation has already been fullfilled so have a reason to date it before the fall of Jerusalem.
I’m sorry, but dating a book to promote your end times doctrine and not based on the historical record is the same as those that say daniel could not have been written before the events it describes, because there is no way a prophet could have been that accurate. THese folks start with the answer they want, then change the equation. (question)
Not buying it.

Jesus taught that you must believe to be saved. If you die as an unbeliever, you die in your sins. No baptism by proxy. Sorry. How else can you interpret the entire Gospel of John?

I would say that is a fair interpretation, and it condemns little children and billions and billions of people to hell. Nice God that you believe in :)

People go to hell because of the conscience, deliberate decision to reject Christ and His atoning death at the Cross as the payment for their sins.

Small children do not have the capacity to understand what Christ did for them and therefore, up to a certain age of understanding, are not held accountable for their sin nature and do not go to hell when they die. They are incapable of knowingly accepting Christ as their Savior.

The billions and billions of people around the world have access to God, His absolute Truth, and salvation until the moment they die.

"18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:18, 19).

If a person goes to hell, it is because he chose to go to hell. Our "nice", awesome God provided man a way out of eternal judgment; it is up to man to either accept it or reject it.

And there is nothing in Scripture that tells us that any of us can be baptized "by proxy". Baptism is an act of obedience that a person does after he has accepted Christ as Savior. Baptism is declaring publicly and to the world that a person has made a decision for Christ. That cannot be done by "proxy".

Giovanna, while I agree with most of your post, there’s nothing in Scripture that shows an “age of accountability”. What is shown is that we are all sinners from the moment we’re born (David actually said from the moment he was conceived), and that we all inherit Adam’s sin-nature.

This includes children, no matter how much people dont’ want to think of their kids as sinners. Having 3 of my own, I’ve seen sin first-hand in their lives. No one teaches a kid to say “MINE!”, or to cry when he doesn’t get his way, or to grab for something that isn’t his, or to say NO to his parents. It’s sin.

Now, when it comes to infants/children dying - they DO die in their sin if they’re not regenerated, just like any adult. However, we don’t know how God works in their hearts when they lack the ability to publicly profess a belief. Much in the way that a mentally handicapped person can be saved, children and infants can be saved. It’s all however God chooses to work in their hearts, just like it’s His decision to work in the hearts of adults.

Those on “desert islands” who never heard of Christ still die in their sins, and unconverted will still go to Hell. God is sovereign over His creation, and if He means to give salvation to an aborigine on some island rock, He will send a missionary to preach his word.

LeGrande - God loved Jacob, but hated Esau. He gives mercy to whomever he decides. He’s a God of justice, and since sin is breaking His law, He demands justice on sinners. A just judge wouldn’t let the guilty go free. Only by repentance and faith in His son’s sacrificial work on the cross can we be saved from the condemnation that is so justly ours.

As I recall some of Paul’s letters were written after that book.

Interesting, considering he was dead about 30 years prior.

That malefactor hanging on the cross by Christ’s side was not baptized, yet he believe and he was saved. That said Christ did set the standard and He was baptized.

Even the Devils beleive. If you don’t also have works, your faith is dead.

Good point. The Devil even showed up to chat with Jesus a couple times. Didn't do him any good, still is in Hell.

Where did David say this? Paul says that before Esau and Jacob were ever born having done good or evil Jacob he loved and Esau he hated. Now why would God create something he hated in advance of having committed any sin?

I don't understand why Huck talks soo much about it! Could be it's the only subject he knows much about!

I'm a Southern Baptist who thinks Huckabee is more ambition than substance! I HOPE he doesn't stand a prayer of a chance of being POTUS.

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

And this requires baptism in what way?

Psalm 51:5

>>Now why would God create something he hated in advance of having committed any sin?<<

Because our destiny is pre-ordained from before the foundations of the world (Eph 1:4). We are created for his glory, whether that glory is magnifying his name, or being used as vessels for his wrath - it all brings him glory.

***Kinda like the difference in writing styles between Tom Clancy and Steven King.***

Hello, Tom. This is Steven. I have this great idea for a book but I’m still tore up from the car accident. Here is the plot.....(....).... Can you write it for me as a ghost writer? Thanks!

So, who is the REAL author of such a book?

Well there is one reference to baptism for the dead in the New Testament — 1 Corinthians 15:29. “Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead if the dead rise not at all. Why are they then baptized for the dead”.

He needed our help - ie good works from us.

Our good works are simply an affirmation of our belief in him.

“Joseph Smith was a prophet. He left ample evidence of his divine calling. The Book of Mormon is one of the most important books of our time.”

***How about using your OWN brain for once.***

In the last two thousand years hundreds of “new revelations” have been written, all claiming first that the Bible is “wrong” and they are correcting “errors”. Yet these “new revelations” are as different as night and day from the Bible and each other.

Why does the Mormon church not recognize any of these former “prophets” other than Joseph Smith. What makes him different from Paul of Samosata, or Mani, or Anna Lee, or Jim Jones or “Levi” who wrote The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Smith appears to be just one more hack in a era full of hacks.
