BAGHDAD — Coalition forces of the Green Zone Committee hosted a day of fun for Iraqi boys and girls from Baghdad, Dec. 29.
The children participated in small sessions of learning to tie knots, carve soap statues and make sit-upon pillows in bright colors. Between sessions, the children and Coalition forces practiced their soccer skills.
“I like coming to learn new things,” said Sa’naa, a young girl participating in the knot tying session. “I have never tied a knot before.”
The Green Zone Committee is not a scouting council, but a fraternal organization that supports Iraqi scouting, explained U.S. Army 1st Lt. Amy Staub, Multi-National Force – Iraq, International Zone environmental officer.
“We enjoy the kids,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Thomas Sadiq. “This is a great experience to learn Arabic and teach them about our culture.”

Note the Scout Scarf on the Iraqi boy on the right.
Looks like Scouting to me.

Bet he could be a regular in Boy’s Life like “Green-Bar Bill” was.
I can see it now “New regular feature article ‘What Knot?’ Each issue will highlight a different knot, its uses and how to tie it.”

When you talk to him give him this idea for Tiger Cubs "We're going to Mars!" Let them do all the invites posters etc. of Rocket ships and all. Then take them to MARS - Military Affiliated Radio System.
