Peters fell into a coma in October while she had a routine medical procedure at Montefiore Medical Center.

A coma from a "routine medical procedure?"

In America today, abortions are routine medical procedures, and there are many more problems and "complications" than those who support legalized abortion will admit. I wonder if her coma came while she was having an abortion.

Just a thought......

As for the girl and her parents, prayers for a full and complete recovery - and that this tragedy reunites the parents.

I immediately thought of abortion as the “routine medical procedure,” too. Under New York State law, no statistics are collected on abortion-related maternal deaths and medical complications, by the way. Abortionists have been very successful in suppressing all information about this “routine medical procedure.”

Poor girl. On top of that, it sounds as if her parents have dollar signs in their eyes, more than anything else. As did Michael Schiavo, of course.

That was my first thought too.

Water on the brain. Absolutely nothing at all to do with abortion.

Well, you’d think if it was a tonsillectomy or an appendectomy it would be in the articl.

It was supposed to be a routine, 90-minute procedure called a ventriculostomy. The surgeon would bore a hole in the brain to drain cerebral fluid into a cavity. This would alleviate the potentially destructive pressure of what’s commonly known as water on the brain.

....why an abortion? Thats not a routine medical procedure. Why not a tonsilectomy or having adenoids removed? Those are routine procedures.

Keep in mind she was 13 so an abortion was probably doubtful. Prayers to her and the family on the difficult decisions they have to make. Would not want to be in that situation ever. Much more difficult than us typing our thoughts on a computer that is for sure. The right decision will be made ultimately.

With all of the hundreds of ‘routine medical procedures’ performed every day, how do you automatically assume that it was an abortion? I did a look up of her name. It was a procedure on her brain.

“Sixteen-year-old Javona Peters sat up in bed at Montefiore Medical Center the morning of Oct. 17, smiling and chatting, ready for her operation. It was supposed to be a routine, 90-minute procedure called a ventriculostomy. The surgeon would bore a hole in the brain to drain cerebral fluid into a cavity. This would alleviate the potentially destructive pressure of what’s commonly known as water on the brain.”
