DEMOCRAT Barack Obama and Republican Ron Paul were selected by members of the MySpace community as their parties' 2008 US presidential candidates.
With the Iowa caucuses looming, MySpace's count of more than 150,000 virtual votes showed Obama on top with 46 per cent of the vote, trailed by Hillary Clinton (31 per cent) and John Edwards (eight per cent).
MySpace, which dubbed its own exercise "the Nation's First Presidential Primary", said Republicans picked Ron Paul with 37 per cent of ballots, followed by Rudy Giuliani (18 per cent) and Mike Huckabee (16 per cent).

Good thing most of the members of the MySpace community are too young to vote.
No surprise.
Let’s hope there is NEVER on-line voting for any public office.
Good thing 13 year old girls can’t vote. :)
Your are right! 13 year old girls can’t vote, but usually listen to what their parents would vote for - discussion on the dinner table.
This is my personal opinion: People who post personal pages at My Space and similar sites aren’t very bright, generally, or else live in a state of ignorance. They’re giving out perssonal information about themselves to the world, whether they realize it or not.
With such intelligence, what does it say that the MySpacers support Obama and Paul?
I’m curious how did Ron Paul get a sway over so many young and college people?
Having a young one in college, it’s my understanding that “Facebook” is all the rage, for now.
Myspace = idiots.
It was the college students that liked his message and then started supporting him with websites. I heard one guy say that in a US Constitution and Law class that the professor on the first day said that the were not going to use the Constitution for study. Does that made any sense? When RP was asked to go to Michigan State and other Univer. there was a large amount of people that attended. It has seemed to snowball since then.
I have a MySpace page and cast my first ballot for Nixon. In this particular balloting, I voted for Moonbat Ron as a joke. Guess I shoulda paid more attention, huh?
Those aren't "republicans". They are mostly Leftist loons who are drawn to loons like Ron Paul- "the doctor". If Al- Gore was running, they'd vote for him. If that other loon (the failure of a car maker) who always runs as an independant runs again, he'll split the vote between Ron Paul and Osama bin Barrack.
What a joke this "news" story is.
Funny, I got spammed by a ronpaul myspace page, and if myspace has ANY connection with reality, then it seems there are a whole LOT of cross-dressers for ronpaul.
According to the lawn signs in my neighborhood, they are the same “republicans” who had Kerry signs in 2004 and who have had No War signs since 2001.
Oops, didn’t mean to offend.
99% of myspace users are also leftist loons, still in the process of being brainwashed by Leftist loon school teachers and the "musicians" bombarding them with their "save the world with your daddy's money (but pay us $150 fir a concert ticket first)" political dribble thy pass off as "music".
