pardons and commutations????

Yeah, Huckabee definitely let a misguided notion of Christian forgiveness dupe him into pardoning people he shouldn't have.

One caveat though: Since juries impose sentences rather than judges in Arkansas, I wonder if there were some emotion-driven sentences that needed to be cut down to size. On the bright side, he carried out the death penalty more than previous governors.

Huckabee cared more about the criminal than the victims —

In our case — we were lucky — he did NOTHING, which is better than a commutation —

We now just get to spend our vacation every year in Little Rock.

and BTW — I heard the judge impose the sentence of the accomplice.

the shooter (of my BIL) agreed to a plea of life to avoid the death penalty (this was in 1988) The accomplice is out of jail (and not on parole) after 5 years thanks to Bubba — and the shooter gets to keep bringin his case — thanks to Huckabee

maybe I should be more christian about those emotion driven sentences.
