Maybe this election cycle is a watershed event. Somebody has to go from the GOP big tent. Seems some “social conservative” Bible thumpers like this guy only heard the words of Jesus that he wanted to hear.
I’ll trade him for the devoted young Paul supporters who have heard the message of freedom and limited government for the first time and like it.
I’m reminded of the old gentleman whose grandkids were touring his new nursing home after he had been abandoned by their parents; he squirmed and squirmed, shifted and shifted only to be pushed back deeper in his wheelchair.
After an hour of this discomfort, his bright-eyed and sprightly new charges came marching back into the reception area and cheerfully asked:
“What do you think of the new place, Pops?”
“I wouldn’t let a dog stay anyplace where they wouldn’t let the old bastard fart, let’s go home!”
