If McCain is NH’s favorite, what point is there for conservatives to spend their resources there? For that matter, what point is there in having a NH caucus, as it represents so few in the GOP?

That is one of the lamest attempts I’ve ever seen at using a state nickname in a cutesy headline.

Someone please stop him before he attempts it again for SC...The Palmetto State.

I realize it is a stretch etc, but it very well may be a ‘play on words’...isn’t NH known as the ‘GRANITE STATE”?
Not condoning the idiocy but..............

This election is just plain crazy. I don’t know how anyone can vote for anyone with all the junk flying back and forth.

What happened to letting the American public choose?

What does that headline mean? Is it supposed to be a play on words or do I need to call it a night?

It will be interesting to see how Wyoming turns out tomorrow. If one can find any press about it at all, that is.

The press sends one reporter to find out how the person who lives in Wyoming will vote.

NH is the Granite State. It’s a play on words.

Yep, you’re right... I just looked it up on Google and indeed one of NH’s 4 nicknames is the “Granite State”. You learn something new everyday! LOL

I still say it doesn’t make much sense though... He was trying to be cute and clever, but ended up looking a little idiotic, IMHO. I guess others may have recognized the state’s nickname more readily than I. Oh, well...

I just learned that one of NH’s 4 nicknames is “The Granite State”. So, it is indeed a play on words, and not you! :)

Don’t mean to nitpick, but New Hampshire has a primary, not a caucus. It’s an asinine process they’ve got up there, since ‘independents’ can vote. Why should someone who has no or minimal allegiance to conservatism have a say in who our nominee is?

Thanks, July 4th, I appreciate it. :)

I Googled “NH Nicknames” right after another poster suggested this might be the case — you learn something new everyday! It’s all good though, after all, my Grandmother once told me that if you didn’t learn something new everyday you might as well be dead! ;)

I found that out a few days ago, but I’ve seen people use “granite” instead of “granted” so I wasn’t sure. There are some journalists out there who use bad grammar, bad punctuation, bad sentence structure, bad spelling......

Fred didn’t put any time in NH, the people I know who live there are sad for it, they wish he had showed more. The place is overrun with Mass-holes, so it’s lost it’s Republican base big time — You may not think so, but one of the big issues in NH is the nanny state, the whole place has turned. Skip NH, it was Fred’s strategy from the beginning. Good or bad, it is what it is.

The battle is likely to be between McPain, a limping 71 year old-timer AMNESTY warrior, out of money and on his last hurrah lap, and Mitt Romney, the liberal flip flopping governor from nearby Massachusetts. The Huckster doesn’t appeal to the NH liberals, not liberal enough for them, and he talks funny. I doubt the winner will mean anything.

Fred’s close the border, cut taxes, freedom, liberty and individualism speech doesn’t appeal to a wide enough audience in illegal loving nanny state NH. Who knew ...

Dems former front runner in heap big trouble with the air of inevitability shattered, the freakish campaign of the Ms who has neither the brains nor the talents to pull off the continuous stream of lies that BJ could, is in for a really rough time. Lose NH and she is done, stick a fork in the Clintons. Turns out old memories of the Clintons were a horror show, for Democrats. When you lose 71% of the votes of your party you know there is trouble. Obama-Winfrey, what can you say, hope, and just laugh softly. If you did that with Edwards, he would sue, so hold your tongue. Obama all the way, he has the big Mo.

Write like the drive bys is so much fun ... a negative in every phrase.

The primaries are so front loaded that by late January the bigger states kick in and will likely settle things by early February.

I gotta agree. McCain is going to win NH by a huge margin, followed by Rudy and Mitt (order may be reversed).

You forgot Huckabee and his kooky evangelicals.   /s
