New Spot: "Troops Support Ron Paul"
The Washington Post ^ | January 4, 2008; | Sarah Lovenheim

Republican Ron Paul is out with a new TV ad, set to run in New Hampshire through Tuesday's primary, stressing his military credentials.

Patriotic music booms. Soldiers salute. The announcer begins: "A proud military veteran who served our nation. Ron Paul salutes and supports our troops who protect and defend our freedom." A flag waves. The announcer continues, "But who do the troops support? Ron Paul. The record shows they're standing up for him." The ad concludes: "Ron Paul is their choice for commander-in-chief."

His campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said Paul "has long been a praised as staunch advocate for veterans' issues." Still, he "wants to bring the troops home from Iraq" because he would rather America "never again sends out brave soldiers to war unless doing so is necessary for our defense," according to Benton. Whether his anti-war message will appeal to New Hampshire veterans is hard to say.

Suuuuuuuuuure they do.

This is McCain territory as far as NH is concerned - it won't appeal, maybe repel.

The same guy who thought Clintoon didn’t go far enough in troop and military cuts in the 90s.. yea right.. heck, we can find troops that support Hilldog, Obama, even Kucinich. Statistically they are all such insignificant numbers, they cannot be used to judge the whole.

I outed Ron Paul on WRKO in Boston this morning regarding my questionn to him two days ago in Iowa. I asked if, knowing the position of Ahmadinejad and the mullahs, if the North Koreans sent a ship to Iran with nuclear missiles, would you stop or sink that ship? His answer was, “Why would we?”

I wonder what the troops in Iraq think of Paul knowing he has voted over and over against funding the supplies they need, like bullets and body armor.

This was outed as a lie long ago.
The tards faked the whole thing claiming to be military.

The one fact we know is this:
Tards, Nazis, and conspiracy nuts vote for Ron Paul.
Patriot soldiers do not.

Good grief...they’re still trotting out that old, many-times-debunked myth.

Political discussions come up frequently in the chow halls, MWRs and the office, etc. I have yet to meet one military member in Iraq (or anywhere else, for that matter) who supports Ron Paul. I haven't met any Americans in Iraq at all who support him.

Some do, but it is statistically insignificant (something like .0016% based on their own numbers- if memory serves me correctly.)

It's about time the Ron Paul campaign spotlights the broad military support he has to combat the neo-con interventionist war boosters.

LOL, Allegra, just as you mention it, they trounce out that number, even though they were embarrassed to learn some kids put their band USAF down as an employer, only a couple had APO/AE addresses, and weren’t listed as military members on military.com.

They probably stick their fingers in their ears when they see polls like this:

http://www.americanconservativedaily.com/2007/08/vets-find-republicans-more-favorable-but-paul-who/

Preference for 2008 Republican Nomination,
by Veteran Status (among Republicans and Republican leaners)

Wow. You almost got all of them in one sentence. I've noticed the favorite insults Paulies use against those of us who have the good sense not to support Ron Paul.

They are "neocon," "warmonger," "statist" and "big government supporter." You got two out of four, but the impressive thing is that you did it in one sentence.

You guys really need to get some new material. And some new myths. This one's been around so long, it has grey whiskers on it.

"Ron Paul salutes and supports our troops who protect and defend our freedom."

That's hilarious! How can Paul's campaign say this with a straight face?

Paul believes the Cold War was a mistake and the War on Terror is a mistake.

Paul says Vietnam is better off as a united communist country, and wishes the same for Korea.

I guess Paul has his own meanings for words like "salute" and "support".

Paul just uses fewer fingers to salute our troops.

“Constitutional conservatives have so little in common with freerepublic. It took 15 posts before a freeper acknowledged Ron Paul actually follows the constitution. I remember when freerepublic was a conservative forum...of course, that was before Jim Robinson embraced undeclared pre-emptive wars.”

Iranian, Syrian, Hamas, and Al Queda troops support him, no doubt. Our troops: Not so much.
