Anti-Freedom Legislation Moving Forward in New Jersey!

Saturday, January 05, 2008

Please Contact Your State Legislators Today!

On Thursday, January 3, the New Jersey State Senate passed S2934 sponsored by State Senator Shirley Turner (D-15) and S2431 sponsored by State Senators John Girgenti (D-35) and Paul Sarlo (D-36).  Both bills now move for a full vote before the Assembly on Monday, January 7 along with the Assembly versions, A4620 and A3035

As originally introduced, S2934 and A4620 would have held honest gun owners criminally liable if their stolen firearm was used in a crime.  Before reaching the Senate floor, NRA and the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (
ANJRPC) was able to amend S2934 to give the owner 36 hours upon discovery of the theft to report the firearm stolen and only hold the owner liable to a civil penalty for failing to report.  NRA still opposes this legislation and we ask that you to contact your members of the Assembly and strongly urge them to oppose this legislation that holds honest gun-owners financially responsible for being victims of theft.

Also on Monday, January 7, the State Senate will take up
S2470, sponsored by Senator Turner.  This bill would criminalize the transfer of handgun ammunition to anyone who does not have valid New Jersey firearms ID card, handgun carry or purchase permit.  While intended to prevent criminals from obtaining ammunition, the legislation would only impact honest gun owners, since criminals are unlikely to obtain their ammunition through legal channels.  This bill should be defeated or amended so as not to affect law-abiding citizens.

Please contact your State Senator and members of the Assembly and respectfully urge them to oppose S2470, S2934/A4620 and S2431/A3035.  Contact information can be found by visiting

Anti freedom legislation is a way of life here in “The Peoples Republic of New Jersey”!

Chipping away at our freedom one law at a time, almost on a daily basis!

Monday is really gonna make our heads explode, the last day of a lame duck session.

Get me outta here! :0)

Bills to toughen gun laws advance in Legislature

Say a prayer for Fred tonight. IIRC, he's the only one in the debate who hasn't treated the Second Amendment as an afterthought.

I’ve been meaning to remind my NJ legislators not to sell the Turnpike but this gives me reason to do it now.

Corzine’s State of the State coming up this week. Expect every gimmick under the sun!

The little weasels in Trenton are going to be very busy on Monday.

1. Apologize for Slavery

2. $10.00 tax on every TV purchased in NJ

3. Charge waste haulers by the ton, an additional charge for trash, to encourage recycling

4. Approve Corslime’s school funding scheme (to encourage more taxes, since we can’t afford what he’s proposing)

5. Mandate Pre-school for every elementary school.

6. Approve the selling of the Parkway & Turnpike.

That’s all I can remember at the moment but, I’m sure there’s more!

We had the opportunity in Nov. and only 34% of the public bothered to vote. Sad.

They were supposed to classify “air soft “ weapons as FIREARMS.
Mandate shots for PRE-school students.

Bob Ingle’s blog spot, scroll down for this one.

Greedy Rabner, Others Want Still More Pay
NJ lawmakers and Corzine are ready to ignore the budget crisis and give judges their second raise in less than a year. Prosecutors, surrogates and a host of others will get raises too. This is led by newly minted state Supreme Court chief Justice Stu Rabner, who argues state judges’ pay should be based on what federal judges’ make. Rabner’s pay goes from $173,000 to $192,00. Democratic Sen. Shirley Turner voted against the hike, saying the state didn’t have the money. Makes sense. But that self-proclaimed champ of the little guy’s pocketbook, Republican Sen. Leonard Lance, voted for it, saying Rabner convinced him. Maybe if Lance doesn’t get that seat in Congress he wants to be appointed a judge. Meanwhile, those federal judges are saying they don’t make enough and want more pay. So, will Rabner get back on his high horse and ask for a third pay raise, the budget deficit be damned? These guys, Rabner included, knew what the job paid when they sucked up to the governor to get appointed. If they’re so unhappy, let them compete with those newly graduated lawyers for the big paying gigs they keep talking about. There is a long line waiting to be named judges. They like the status, the bennies and the guaranteed job for life.

LOL! That’s right an 11% increase! When was the last time you got an 11% raise, in one shot? I think that they got a 3% raise just last summer.
