But there are far more effective ways to fight him

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What would you recommend?

Oh, come now. Newspaper and television ads, the Internet has been helpful in getting the word out, press releases, all that. Any number of things. That, incidentally, have been working.

But shouting him down at an appearance? It's childish and unworthy a tactic. It makes him, incredibly, a sympathetic figure "standing up to all those rude conservatives".

If you think the only way you can win in the marketplace of ideas is to interrupt speeches with screeching, you obviously believe your position is the weaker one. I don't think that's the case here, which is why puerile stunts like this one ought not be even considered.

I think there’s more than a few of us coming with you if he’s nominated. =)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Oops! The above does look like I agreed with this man’s behavior, and I really don’t.

I should have written: “What do you think is **most** effective?”

In my early adulthood, I was a pro-abortion supporter, but then had a religious conversion and became a Christian.

Personally,,,I think our entire culture needs to be turned around, and the best way to do that would be with a grand and sweeping Christian revival.

If we want to stop abortion, then we need to change the culture from one that is relativistic, amoral, and anti-Judeo Christian to one that is grounded in Christ and the Bible.

You may have noticed that I tend to concentrate on government school issues. One of the reasons for this is that I believe that our government schools are subtlely and not so subtlely preaching an anti-life, relativistic, and fundamentally anti-Judeo Christian message. Armies of youth graduate from government schools every year with little appreciation for the fundamental value of life. They simply do **not** understand that the Right to Life is an endowment from God. They honestly think that the right to be alive is a human construct and granted to us by the government!

Yes, I think that those who oppose abortion should be working on my fronts: Politically, in the media, raising money, in the courts, advertising,,etc.

In my opinion,,,The MOST effective way to bring about a change in our abortion laws is to shut down government K-12 schooling and to thoroughly and complete reform our colleges and universities.

Government schooling, its role in our nation’s culture, and its contribution to abortion must not be ignored!

85% of Christian youth leave their religion within 2 years of graduating from high school. ( In contrast, 90% or more of homeschooling youth remain faithful and active in their religion.) So...if this is the effect of government schooling (and its Secular Humanist preaching) on Christian youth, the effects for non-Christian youth must be even worse! Are these youth more or less likely to support abortion or to have one? Answer: MORE likely!

Is it any wonder the rates of abortion in this country are so high? I am not surprised! .

There is a lot that Christians could do. We could start endowments that would provide private vouchers to private Christian schools. If Harvard can have a 35 Billion dollar endowment, Christians could do the same. They could do it if they wanted!

Christian churches should be organizing their members to open micro-schools, mini-schools, homeschools, virtual schools, and one room school houses. Once these schools are smoothly functioning, non-members could be admitted. What a wonderful opportunity to mentor these non-Christian parents, introduce them to Christ, and teach them the value of life.

Also..I think Christian teachers are actually doing more harm than good by teaching in government schools.

If Christian teachers are trying to sneak in a little Christianity then they are teaching the kids that Christians are sneaky. If they are not vigorously protesting and resisting anti-Judeo Christian teaching in their schools then they are teaching the kids that Christians are weak, hypocritical in their beliefs, liars, two-faced, and lukewarm in their faith.

After exposure to 12 years of Secular Humanist indoctrination in government schools I am not surprised that we have abortion in our nation.

After exposure to 12 year of experience with Christian teachers who the students rightly perceive as being lukewarm, fence sitting, hypocritical to their faith, and sneaky,,,I am not surprised that the job of true missionaries is so hard.

It makes them look like nasty, hectoring, heckling buffoons to abortion supporters.

To a liberal/Marxist all conservatives are buffoon no matter what they say or do.

True enough, but it's still important that conservatives don't actually reinforce those stereotypes.

I was once called a ‘baby killer’ as well.

January of 1981, San Francisco Airport.

I was in uniform.

If Rudy gets the nomination, it effectively ends the Republican Party as the pro-life Party.

Being sarcastic and overly dramatic doesn't help

Perhaps you should look at the post I was replying to if you want to see what you describe.

That is where the histrionics started on this thread. And inspired you, Elliot the Teen to lecture me and make erroneous assumptions of emotionalism.

Perhaps you would like to direct your post to the one who started this? Be careful though, the people he admires the most on the www are people that want to destroy FR.

Screaming, harassing zealots on either side do nothing to advance their cause.

Well by all means then don't hesitate to take my advice in my last post to you...if you really mean what you stated.

Or do you only lambast supporters of life?

I am not a fan of RG but I disagree that he alone would end the Republican Party as a pro-life party.
The platform would have to change, which it will not.
I have heard him speak about the kind of judges he would appoint, and unless he is a liar, they would be like Thomas, Scollia, and Roberts all pro-life judges personally and not activists.
If HRC wins she will appoint activists judges who promote abortions...there lies the difference.

Bush is pretty much pro-life, but even he has sometimes distanced himself from the cause. He’s never attended a pro-life rally in DC, and the women in his family have always been pro-choice. This is to keep the por-choice faction in the party from going crazy. Rudy is a member of that faction, and one cannot expect him to give more than lip-service to a cause he doesn’t believe in. Of course, both Hillary and Obama are zealots for the otgher side, so I would not hestitate to choose Rudy over either.

On the other hand, Rudy might just bust his butt to prove himself to pro-lifers that he is a man of his word. No Harriets for him. Like only Nixon could go to China-thing.
