TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET
Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!
"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."
Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

bttt just in case
—the unions will pull her through in Nevada—
Sounds like the Clinton machine’s strategy to create a second coming of the “Comeback Kid”.
NEVER trust anything coming from ANY source associated with the Clintoons.
My only fear is that she will drop out, or lose over and over but keep cool in public and America will never get to see her for the out of control, power hungry, maniacal bitch that she is.
this thread is a duplicate.

She really is “so yesterday”. I just thought the libs would support her for ONE reason, because they actually think she could win in a general election.
She was downright bizarre in the debate the other night.
The one that sticks in my mind was a sentence that used the word “change” about 3 times. Then she just started using her hands and talking about something. I’m still not sure what she said. It was weird.....like she lost her place in a junior high speech contest and just started making stuff up.
Shout hallelujah! Hallelujah! Shout hallelujah.............
If we start to see key staff members jumping out of the sinking Titanic/Hilliarly campaign, we might be able to believe this.
They don’t want to be with a big loser, and they will try to switch ships to a winner.
Big money will not flow to her if they see her losing. Losing H$U has been devasting to her.
Yep - didn’t see it in the search.
Mod - can you delete this one? Thanks!
Oh so sweet Schadenfreude.
I think she cannot tolerate a humiliating loss and may leave to save face and perhaps fight another day.
Paging Algore!
Looks like the Hsu’s are falling off of Hitlery’s horsey.
Does anyone here think Obama is any less dangerous than Hillary?
> Hillary will stay in and steal the nomination at the
> convention with her overwhelming lead in Super-Delegates.
Or withdraw now, and work to ensure an open convention,
where delegates can be threatened, bought, interned, etc.
Hillary may not want to discover what her own party
really thinks of her. Fortunately for her, the Democrat
party hasn’t advocated actual democracy in decades.
Friendly note to Obama. Do NOT accept hilldog as your VP.
—no, they won’t-—
You go girl!
Another ploy, they believe the world can not survive without them.
Congressman Billybob
Drudge, but Admin Moderator had to do the work
To quote George Jetson with his twisted up fingers...
“These four hour days are killing me!”
I just don’t see a Clinton giving up that easily. I think Drudge jumped the gun on this one.
Just as a note, this is the 3rd thread dupe for this.
Not in the least. At the risk of sounding racist, which I am most definitely not, I do not believe the American public is ripe for a black president yet. But I’m not discounting the possibility given some of the populist candidates that the GOP is pushing.
What is that saying about HELL and a woman scorned?
Another buzz word she kept using during the debate was Bush. None of the other candidates used Bush on the scale she did. Her anti-Bush strategy is so old and very obvious. Even the rats are tired.
NEVER trust anything coming from ANY source associated with the Clintoons.
This has to be coming from the Clinton Camp. She is getting trounced by Obama and cannot take another second place.
What they are doing is changing the expectations again. If everyone thinks she is going to withdraw from the campaign, there are then no expectations. When she comes in second or third they can then say she exceeded expectations and is now the comeback kid. No way she will go away quietly before the February Super Primary.
“She doesn’t want the Clinton brand” What the heck is the Clinton Brand?
Is it something like when I think of soda, I think coke.
You could be right. Can't restrain my glee over Hillary's decline, but at the same time, I've had this nagging little "Be careful what you wish for" thought going on.
OTOH, I can't see Obama's sustaining the kind of giddy cult-of-personality worship he's enjoying now, through all the months up until November. A lot of Dims are permanently deluded, but most independents, I think, will sober up.
And lo, I just heard Pat Buchanan say exactly the same thing (on the John Gambling radio show). Pat's a shrewd analyst so I have hope he (and I) am right about Obama.
She doesn’t want to damage the Clinton brand?
hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!1GAG
Now, just go away.
the Clinton “brand” damaged?
what a yuk
Does she think she’s gonna try again in 4 years?
not likely
“Is it something like when I think of soda, I think coke.”
No it’s like when you think of Clinton you think of coke.
One bumber...was looking forward running against someone who 46% of population says won’t vote for her before election even begins.
I think the idea of her dropping out is BS. The laboratory is working on her latest reinvention as we discuss this whole affair.
This article is probably one of many either subtle, or not so subtle preparing us for the JOY of the upcoming return of the “COMEBACK KID”. We are to be thrilled that Hillary was able to reinvent herself and beat down all the hideidiot (play on the word hideous) Dragons to win the Castle.
PUKE!
Edwards hoping to be the Uncola.
I don’t believe it. She will stay in through February 5 and in the meantime, Obama better be ready for some real mud slinging.
This is her last shot at it. She’ll be too ugly to run again later. Age has not been kind to her.
Aren't the super delegates commitments verbal, as in not binding, as in Bill's wedding vows?
